In recent times, I have gotten more interested in tournaments, however one thing I have noticed is how Italy has drawn the short stick on tournament line ups, specifically in tanks.
As you can see, despite Italy having a Leopard 2A4 just like Germany, it has been excluded. Even France, who just recently got Leopards in their line ups are able to use the Leopards, meanwhile the Hungarian Leopards are not seen in tournaments.
One could argue that there is no need for multiple Leopards in a tournament, but why does Italy - who has had the Leopard 2A4 in their line up prior to Benelux inclusion - get stuck with the Centauro? Especially when France already has had a similar light tank in the Vextra, or they could use the AMX-40. It doesn’t make sense why France gets to use a tank that only just recently was given to them while Italy is stuck with a pure Ariete line, minus the Centauro.
Another question is when will the Swiss line be involved on the air tournaments. Or will Germany be stuck with the clearly inferior F-4 jet?
