I’m going to bring this up again, as several bug reports have been submitted and been marked as “not a bug.” According to them “This is the initial speed for AB battles. Not a bug.”
That makes zero sense for three reasons. Firstly, that has never been the metric used in the past, as it’s always been speed in the water listed on the stat cards.
Secondly, it still says “maximum speed in water” on the stat card and not “initial torpedo speed.”
Thirdly, initial torpedo speed out of the tube is a meaningless stat.
Then there is the fact that, for example, the Bravy shows as 235mph in both arcade and realistic, so it’s not even consistent.
They show as 235 MPH on both for me. The only time it changes to 78 MPH is if I go into a test drive. The stat card is wrong unless I do that.
Any comments on the rest of my post? I feel like I’m being gaslit by Gaijin. I’ve been playing 12 years and “speed out of the torpedo tube” was not the standard until this patch.
Idk, I wasnt playing for last half a year. I once did chart on wikipedia with all torpedoes and their speeds, range etc. but it seems it was deleted when they decided to ruin wikipedia. So I cant tell what they changed…
its really ridicoulos that GJ declares this obvious wrong information on the statcard as “No bug” - its superior silly to declare the speed as initial speed when leaving the tube - as you already pointed out this speed is completely irrelevant. Sadly some (volunteer) bug moderators seem to have no idea about the part of game they moderate… I assume they want to give the speed in m/s (as the torpedo speed modification is given in m/s) but multiplied it by ten and still named it km/h
