The air to air versions are actually somewhat fun, but the ground versions just get out sped by mig-23s to the base and do nothing for the rest of the game cause they’re useless air to air wise
Id mostly agree with the 11.3/11.7 versions, they just dont have teeth or endurance to really do much other than bomb bases. Maybe with the intro ARM and maybe SEAD they will have more of a pressence?
But [insert ground attacker here] will always be more effective in a PvPvE gamemode like ASB and not a PvP gamemode like ARB. ARB is literally designed to be anti-ground attacker
That being said… 12.3 ones, at least before the stupid levels of compression… does kinda well with 9Ms. Everyone just seems to assume its a 9L, drops 1 flare and then eats a 9M. When you get attacked, you can just waste their missiles with unlimited CMs, even if you die, you act as a massive decoy for your teammates, I think my record was wasting around 15 missiles before being killed.

Yeah, it was the following major update after the Tornado IDS and then took another major update to get a usable radar and then another 4ish months for it to stop bugging out (with a perfect radar lock, at a target at alt, the Skyflash would just self destruct after 3 seconds. My record was 4 out of 4 fired at an ideal target all self destructing)
Its kinda why the Tornado is so hated, people have really really terrible memory of that first year or so. If it was added now, in that original state, the F3 at 11.7 might have been too high for it. Especially after the F-16s and Mig-29s got massive buffs in the form of IRCCM and the F3 was still being very buggy.
Was 15 months after being added to the game that they finally semi-fixed the FM, and for the IDSs added chaff. That was a long year and a half.
(and as a final nail in the coffin, it had a higher BR in ASB, so it was facing F-16s and Mig-29s 100% of the time for no real reason, it sucked. The Italian ADV was even added at a 0.3 lower BR in ASB for about 3 months)
imo, it probably should be 12.3 alongside the Kurnass 2000 and F4EJ Kai, but shouldnt be alongside the F-16s and F-18As also at 12.3. At least not without BOL overhaul and Phimat Pod(s), then maybe. But the compression is too stupid to really balance anything.
As for a 12.7 one, again, with the right decompression and assuming it got 9Ms… would be kinda fun in its Op Granby weapons fit.
im not good enough to play sim , im ‘casual’ in the sense of skill. will gaijin put it at 11.3 though? probably not, gaijin hates britain. if i wait for base respawns , 9 times of 10 , the game ends before they respawn (either win or i die)
Not sure exactly why but the radar/ super temp combi just work on the F3
Normal sparrows + any other radar in game is a buggy random event. F3 just slaps everything, super temps even do the lose lock- missile still hits magic.
Wish it was available on other jets like the phantom- dogfight sparrows are OK at 11.3 but at 12.0 comparing it to.the F4S also at 12.0 its a fat no.

Though Gaijin just hate Ground attackers in general. There is a stupid mechanic where you get less reward the more bombs you takes, Basically nerfs only ground attackers whilst buffing Napalm carrying fighters
Yeah, the STs have minor advantages over the Aim-7F, like you cant really roll them and the Foxhunter radar is one of the best at that BR
I think all the buggyness early in its life resulted in a lot of issues being resolved that no one has really bothered properly reporting for anything else.
Now that it sits at 11.3, it’s easy to grind it. Once you get the MK83, you can take out 2 bases and I had a few games where I was able to take out 4 or more bases.
The plane sits at a much easier br than the F111C (that face the F/A18 early spam).
Nonetheless, this plane only purpose is to bring it to GRB once you get the PGM…
Yeah, that is another option, but the rewards are straight reduced the more bombs you take:
So if you can reliably get 2x base kills, then take more, otherwise, you are just straight better off taking enough bombs for 1 base and then gunstrafing said AI targets instead of using bombs.
Alternatively, you can run Seagles or PGMs on the wing pylons if you really want to maximise your loadout, but im of mixed opinion about whether its worth the performance degredation
