and we would need to wait another 6 years for that too
you cant see entire soviet nation skill in that
Wait until you hear about the Su-34, the supersonic and agile top tier fighters armed with r77s and can carry 6x FnF KH-38s
totally balanced
honestly this is so insane to think about, you can kill all the bases without even leaving the aa cover of your owna airfield. This will completly break gamemodes like air sim.
Where are my 4 Stormshadows gajin?
Yeah, they have decent warheads dont they? So they can actually kill bases.
I dont understand why they didnt just give the GR4 Storm Shadows. They KNEW people were going to be pissed about Brimstones being so gimped
yep he showed that you can kill 1 base with one salvo
Yep, definetly not going to be OP in air modes, as of course, the soviets never get given OP weapons
- Smokes.
- Maverick/KH-38 misses.
It’s the same type of ordnance already in other tech trees.
PGM-2000s without TV guidance cannot break any game modes.
Oh no! They can do the same thing in sim I’ve been doing! The horror!
Tell me which other tech tree has a GPS guided cruise missile with 400s of guidance time?
Show me a 70+km shot with the PGM 2000, I’ll wait.
PGM-2000s cannot and will not fire at a base past about 12km. Sometimes you can get more, but 12km is doing exceptional well in my attempts to use them in Sim. Being GPS guided, the Groms are not limited by the TV seeker being a TV seeker and should enable them to be fired using CCRP at much greater ranges than anything you can possible hope to achieve with the PGMs.
In theory, you can take off in a Su-34, hard climb, select a base using CCRP and fire. All without ever leaving the safety of your AFs defences. This CANNOT be achieved using PGMs.
To be entirely fair, the Tornado Gr4 should get Storm Shadows
@Smin1080p_WT With Brimstones being so serverly limited. Will we see additional loadout options for the GR4 be added. Such as a PGM-2000 with a IIR Seeker (reported about 6 months ago for the Tornado Gr1) or GPS guided stand-off weapons like the Storm Shadow?
oh in case somebody didnt notice, one has wings and glides, the other one doesnt
lol snail giving us anything that isnt broken unless its russia good luck they still haven’t fixed the add on Armour for challengers that is meant to provide protection against 30mm APDSFS and somehow snail read that as 30mm of kinetic protection despite multiple bug reports
As I said, Groms and GBU-39s offer nothing ground breaking.
And if Storm Shadow is purely GPS guided as well, then sure.
We should also get the C-130 with Mavericks and the MOAB as a bomber. :)
This is however false. Sim maps are 128x128, on top of you needing 10,000 meters altitude and minimum 0.9 mach to get max range of these weapon systems.
6000 meters is already outside airfield protection.
@mmyatt95
GPS guided weapons are not broken and exclusive to the Soviets.
neither would LOBL brimstones with multi spectrum smoke added to the game instead the devs waited until a hyped weapon was added and broke its legs
Airfields are not always at the edge of map. Bases are not at the edge of map. Despite being 128x128. I doubt the distance from a “forward-ish” airfield and a relatively close base is more than 40-50km. I doubt you would need to climb any higher than 3000m to be able to fire the Groms and hit a base under those conditions if thier max range is more like 120km when fired under optimal conditions.
Then there is also maps like Tunisia which are much smaller to consider. Where you could probably engage in AF to AF strikes with relative ease
Prove that all countries in the world use that smoke, cause I haven’t found evidence to support that desire of mine.
They dont need to add fancy radar blocking smoke. 95% or more of cases of Kh-38s and AGM-65s hitting a someone, the target doesnt know they are being targeted. So the Brimstone Seeker being able to see through smoke would be irrelevant. I dont see the issue with the radar seeker. The cat is out of the bag with long range fire and forget missiles, the line being drawn at the radar seeker of the brimstone is pointless.
@Jack_R
Prove that GBU-39 and LS-6 500 are OP, prove that they are Russian ordnance.
Prove that Brimstones are purely GPS guided weapons and NOT laser/radar.
GROM, GBU-39, LS-6, and of course JDAMs in general are not “F&F” munitions that target vehicles.
Your post is purely defending Russian equipment.
