Please tell me you don’t mean this one

It was a TV bomb, you didn’t smoke, it was fired from about 6km away and it was a SU-39 not the SU-25SM3
Then It was the Stormer HVM I spawned in afterwards then. Defo got hit by KH-38 and there was nothing I could do about it. Was out of range and I remember dropping smoke, which rarely is enough to defend against anything that has IOG
But defo didnt detect the Su-25/39 whatever it was, on radar or IRST
Okay phew.
Right so do you think smoking 1 second before impact should’ve saved you?
Smoke deployed 8.38.908
Impact 8.40:109
Okay so 1.2~ seconds before impact.
The point is, I only knew I had a Su-25SM3 firing KH-38s at me because I vusually spotted them being launched. The Su-25SM3 never once appeared on my IRST and was fired at twice the range I could ever hope to hit in even an ADATS. (must have been a later missile I spotted and not the one that killed me, which then brings up the other point of even knowing you’ve been shot at in most SPAA)
I popped smoke as soon as I did spot them and tried moving as well. It still hit and killed me. 90% of my encounters are the same with the KH-38s. Short of putting a building between me and the aircraft, Im dead.
Brimstones mmV is determined to be too OP because it can see through smoke. But KH-38 is so fast and has such good IOG, that even if you see the launches and pop smoke. 9/10s you will still die
Su-34 is only going to make that worse. But IOG on the KH-38 perfectly balanced, KH-38 with IR seeker, perfectly balanced. Any KH-38s on the Su-34 is considered perfectly balanced.
Just feels like cherry picking
Yes the Kh-38 is the strongest AGM in the game and is blatantly OP but it’s hardly a good idea to add another, even stronger AGM on top of that
Brimstone 1 in mode 2 would still be slower and have less range than an AGM-65 and the Tornado Gr4 is still WAY weaker than an F-16 or F-15 or Su-34.
But even just Brimstone 2 in SAL only would be enough to maybe make them less of a DOA weapon
Sorry I felt you mischaracterized your experience in that game. Any weapon even laser guided would’ve killed you in there. You had ample options when you spawned and I felt you had lots of available defilade to move into to get your bearings.
I was dodging the 3 or 4 enemy CAS up and trying to find an angle whilst also avoiding the enemy team that appeared to be actively pushing our spawn. There was no where safe. Not that I could do anything in the Stormer vs anything that was active, nor could the ADATS
(Quite frankly why the ADATS is 11.7 and not 10.7 is beyond me tbh)
TLDR: 3/4 of the reasons that Gaijin gave for nerfing Brimstones so hard are totally and completely irrelevant and the last is tenative at best
Isn’t Brimstone 2 just dual-mode Brimstone?
No, upgraded motor
Nah its a new rocket motor. And some other improvements. But a 200% range increase.
SAL only Brimstone 2 I think would be the fairest thing they could do. Brimstone 1 AND SAL only (and possibly a load of modeling issues that werent fixed I dont think yet like it could barely hit anything past 14km )
Just feels like slamming it way harder than it needed.
But they need to come up with a solution to mmV ASAP, because the lack of FnF on the apache really sucks
Seems like something really easy to fix using the smoke.
All it boils down to in the end is that the devs didn’t want something strong in the game for a nation that isn’t favoured by them, that’s why they use disingenuos arguments against people in the thread. The refusal or out right mocking of comparisons made to other ordnance really just proves this.
You see, even if there are 1300 replies refuting Gaijin, they will still stick to their own opinions. If the USSR didn’t have S1 and KH38, it wouldn’t be a big deal whether or not to send Brimstone, but now Gaijin seems to believe that no series deserves to have more AA&CAS power than Russia, especially the small TT represented by the UK. If the USSR removes SI and KH38, no one will be angry about the weakening of Brimstone
Wont the IIR PGMs effectively be a Kh-38 analogue? It’ll be slower but a max lock range of 20km with IOG (which the TV versions will also be getting).
With the Osa coming to the tree there’s also potential for an Indian Pantsir iirc.
It seems that the Pantsir from India has not been delivered yet, and PGM is still testing the suit. As I said, if everyone has such air to ground missiles in the future, no one will feel angry
The T-72B3 Jammer Monster
The issue though is that ADATS vs Su-34 firing off 6x KH-38s (or even SU-25SM3 with 4). at the most you might be able to intercept 1, maybe, i’ve never seen a AGM appear on my radar though. But i’ve had a Pantsir intercept 3x PGMs enroute to him before. In fact, that match, I managed to land and rearm 3x, firing 3x PGMs at him everytime, none got close.
Their slow speed and the fact you have to treat them more like a glide bomb than an AGM, makes them far easier to shoot down than an AGM-65 or KH-38. They also seem to struggle far more if the target is moving loads. But I am excited to see if the IIR seeker will actually lock at an acceptable range, I struggled to get a lock past about 10km more often than not.
With a couple of possible native options like the Supacat HVM and Sky Sabre, it would be a real shame if the solution was a C&P Pantsir.
There we so many options, from a placeholder seeker like they’ve done with the AJ168 Martel to just giving us Brimstone 2s so that we had SAL still. but decent range and speed.
At least we did get the better PGMs and they are getting IOG at long last too. But we are gunna need some other buffs like BOL, without mode 3 Brimstones, you are gunna be extremely vulnerable to an Su-34, F-15E or F-16 in multirole
does Pantsir radar see Hellfires?
