Difference between adding a VT-4 to the Japanese tech tree and a swastika is that the VT-4 is a tank purchased by Thailand from China and operated by Thailand.
It can be added to Thailand yes but we know that it is not getting added this upcoming update.
Swastika that the world is known for thanks to Germany WWII is more of a symbolism of racial hate to anyone non related to aryans and to the genocide they committed against specific groups.
I know Japan has done bad things in the past and their citizens also paid a heavy price for doing so.
(Politics of then are something we can’t change because we are not from that time)
Japan did improve themselves and learned from their mistakes of the past.
I think it’s best for all of us not to forget the past but to learn from it to prevent future conflicts to happen again.
Setting these grudges from the past aside would help in forging new bonds.
If people continuing to be in camps like these there won’t be any form of peace in the future.
TLDR: I think you guys can’t stop VT-4 from being added to the Thailand sub-tree itself. (which is part of the Japanese ground tree.)

Phong kong T34 from Vietnam is also present in the TT
It’s an old mistake from many years ago, the vehicle was considered as a Chinese one for many years. It was named Type 56 SPAA in Chinese tech tree before.
As Thai person here, I and our major Thai community are welcome both T-84 and VT-4 in Japanese subtree.
Not sure if my comment welcome here, but we’ll be upset if Gaijin treat our VT-4 like War Diaries in the past (which I missed the RTAF’s F8F skin forever.)

As another Thai person, I would love to see Thai VT-4 being represented. But, if not, it’s quite understandable, although a little bit kinda sad.

Maybe instead of adding THE VT4
the Thai name can be used
The only reasom why chinese players dont want the vt4 on the thai subtree is political.
As a Japanese person I welcome the addition of Thai vehicles in Japan,
I personally see Japan as a tech tree that could open up more nations in the South East Asian region that are more closer aligned with western vehicles.
Allowing for some surprise guests as long it fits the mark
