Now that the end of the line battleships are being added, there is one more factor that impacts your average naval match. And that is line-ups.
Unless you want to fork over golden eagles for back-ups, your gonna need another battleship in your line-up to stay in the fight. So im making this thread to highlights a nations strengths or weaknesses when it comes to line-ups, the minimum criteria is at least two other BBs that are competetive.
First, Japan has undoubtedly the best line-up in the upcoming update. Yamato, Mutsu and Amagi are all very competetive giving your average Japanese naval player the best staying power in naval RB matches.
Next is the USSR, but with the cavaet that a Russian player would need to pay $80 for a competetive 3 ship line-up. Soyuz, Kronshtat and Sevastapool are powerful but definitely not to the level of Japan. Anything not a Soyuz might fond their guns anemic for the fight ahead so the average USSR top tier experience is determined exactly how dominant Soyuz will be.
The US player will have a cold water moment when trying to decide what else to bring if their Iowa went down. The best picks in my opinion are Iowa, Colorado and Tennessee, leaving out Alaska as she is too thin skinned, with lacking firepower to fight reliably in top tier super guns. The Standards slow speed, reload and unrealistic barbette weakness makes them suffer the most when trying to back up Iowa. Only the pure stats of their guns gives them a chance to lay down some hurt before dying.
The UK walks a thin line when it comes to line-ups. Vanguard, Nelson and Hood are well rounded but with the cavaet that none of them have exceptional firepower. Still, great module placement prevents them from being easily ammo racked and Nelson is still a threat in any match in the 10km range.
Germany might find itself slacking a bit, entirely dependent how Gaijin models Bismarks turtleback. Unlike Scharnhorst, it isnt curved so the game wont calculate insane angles to cause an auto ricochet. Her guns are also lack luster, with only her rate of fire making her stand out amongst her peers. Like Russia, they’ll need to lay $80 for a line up, making it Bismark, Gneisenau and Erzats York. Scharnhorst guns are unacceple in these tiers with her only being an option if you want a turtle that cant hit back.
The Fench have the glorious Richelieu, but needs an event ship for a line-up. Richelieu, Strasbourg and Dunkerque will have the latest French BB doing most of the heavy lifting. I do not see much staying potential in these ships with 800mm pen shells flying around, but Richies armor seems quite the troll possibly making her the new Scharnhorst.
Italy has Roma, then Conte and Duilio. Yeah, none of these ships are strong and Roma pays for her good guns with an unacceptable reload for Naval. Her going down will leave the Italian players with almost nothing to compete, unless they go after other players who also lost their top tiers and are using other ships in their line-up.
Anyway, these are my opinions and would be glad for any discussion.
