[TOOL] I made a free RP/SL grind calculator for War Thunder — no ads, no cookies

Hey everyone,

Like a lot of you I’ve spent way too much time trying to figure out exactly how much RP I need to grind to reach a specific vehicle, or how many battles that realistically means. Spreadsheets get messy, and I never found a tool that did exactly what I wanted — so I built one.

It’s called wtgrind.app and it’s completely free.

What it does:

  • Full tech tree browser for all 10 nations and all branches (aviation, ground, ships, coastal, helicopters) — 2200+ vehicles
  • Select the vehicles you want to research and it calculates the total RP and SL cost instantly
  • Set your average RP/SL per battle and it estimates how many matches you need
  • Progression tracker — mark vehicles as researched and track how far along you are
  • Objective mode — right-click any vehicle, set it as a target, and the tool finds the optimal research path to reach it (including handling rank unlock gates automatically). You can set up to 3 targets at once
  • Collection tab — see your overall completion percentage per nation/branch
  • Comparator — put two nations/branches side by side
  • Right-click on any vehicle to open its Wiki page directly

What it doesn’t do:

  • No ads. None.
  • No cookies, no tracking, no analytics
  • No account required
  • No login, no email, nothing

It also supports 20 languages (the UI and vehicle names both switch), has a dark/OLED theme, and you can share your current selection via a link.

Data comes from the community datamine so it stays up to date.

Would love feedback — especially if something looks wrong with a specific tech tree or if a vehicle is misplaced. Still actively working on it.

Pretty cool. I appreciate the amount of work you put into it. Here is a bug for your troubles:
However it seems like the number of vehicles to unlock a tier is off and the paths aren’t accurate, it tries to grab the foldered vehicles instead of the top one that has to be unlocked first. For example I made the M60A2 an objective, and it thinks 5 vehicles are needed for rank VI instead of 4 , and that you can skip the T32 and grind the cheaper nested T32E1. Which would be nice, but the Snail says no.

Thanks for the feedback !! I’m gonna check rn the foldered vehicles are my worst enemies for the algorithm

The algorithm “should” be fixed but I don’t understand this “it thinks 5 vehicles are needed for rank VI instead of 4” in game you need 5 vehicles for the rank VI not 4, I may have misunderstood the message English isn’t my native language.

Unless I am mistaken, US rank VI requires only 4 rank V vehicles to unlock.

check in your rank V vehicles you maybe have a premium or an event vehicle
