I just finished a GF match in North Holland, in which a few players could shoot their main tank gun through buildings and hit their target. I for one could not do this. I was in tier 5, BR 7.0. Does this map allow this, or did I and my mates stumble onto dishonest players?

Maybe they used ap or apds and you used aphe?
I mean you can destroy buildings by shooting them, but was the building destroyed or were they just able to shoot through them while they remained intact?
Is this through the death animation or client-side replay?
Depends on the building - light wooden buildings can be shot through IIRC, brick and stone ones not - unless through windows and doors, which do sometimes line up
Brick can be shot through. i got killed through a solid brick wall with apds on advance to the Rhine 2 days ago.
ive been wallbanged through map terrain and undestroyable buildings enough times to know that this is just a problem with war thunder. shooting through buildings generally isn’t possible even if a prop is meant to be able to be shot through

I tried to shoot a pzh2000 through a destructible building with obj120 152mm dart yesterday, and all it did was bring the building down and gave him a free kill on me while i was reloading. He probably thought I was mad (I was).
You can do this, but its a gamble and you need to know what objects it is possible on.
