To nerf CAS and increase SPAA players allow fighters to spawn in early


I think the best solution to fix CAS (especially at top teir) is to allow people to spawn into fighters at the start of the game. Restrict their weapon loadouts to air and tracer rounds only, also only allow anti-aircraft missiles.

I believe this will help because

  1. anyone wanting to play CAS will have fly in contested airspace. As right now all you need to do is CAP the first point and you can spawn in as CAS and not have to worry about enemy planes.
  2. Because there will be planes up at the start of the game more people will pick SPAA as their first spawn
  3. For nations like Italy, Japan and Israel the top teir SPAA is very lacking, allowing these players to spawn in a fighter would give them some way of attacking enemy aircraft.

As an additional bonus this will help against helicopters doing an early game dumb rocket rush or people who sit behind hills and fire missiles. Something that is very hard for SPAA players to deal with, especially when helicopters have spike atgms.

Lastly it will allow more people to play planes without having to deal with the negatives that come with Air Realistic Battles.

Do you have any suggestion or problems with my idea?

At lower BRs this is an issue where certain aircraft (mainly US ones) can perform fine anti tank duties even with those restrictions. There would also need to be any new aircraft belts added in order to fully remove AP ammo. This also isn’t considering how many open top tanks there are at lower BRs.

Overall a good suggestion at rank VII+, but it does have issues at lower BRs.

all my cas planes are fighters with their stock belts being more than adequate at killing tanks from above, this would just make things worse

The issue with belts has already been pointed out.

There is also the issue of it making spawn camping worse. I can imagine getting a team where like half of them first spawn a plane and the enemy team just strolls into our spawns.

Making a limit would help that but give the issue of people either waiting in the spawn screen or just leaving if they cant first spawn a jet.

My prefered method for this problem is to make the sp cost itemised. Each rocket/missile/ect will cost sp. This will mean that light loadouts will be slightly cheaper but the heavy loadouts, which are what 99% of players use, would greatly increase.

No reason that 6 gbus should cost the same as 1 gbu

I now oppose changes to fighter SP.
Fighter spawning will lose matches and cause more ODLing.
CAS at top BR [the only place it’s OP] is an issue and they’re working on SPAA as we speak.

It’s also OP between 4.0 and 7.3, where SPAA can’t easily counter it.
