With the lack of irl testing info they may just give it 23 seconds as thats what they wrote down.

So long as they give it the irl horrendous armour then I ain’t gonna complain because the thing will be neutered.

@Rileyy3437-live But also not unrealistic goal considering it is reload time or loading angle, which alreay 1920s japanese achieved 24 seconds, and WW2 USN fast battleships could achieve 23 seconds(or maybe 25 seconds) under same condition.

I’m wondering case of how British set such case on 16’’ of lion, but it is also not finished ship so we don’t know. Maybe slower considering the shell storing position is much far from turret compared to ships mentioned earlier, but also considering Royal Navy has great interest in quick firing, idk.

Yes not unrealistic and they aren’t even superheavy shells they’re just ridiculously fast.

Lion class firing always stated a maximum of 2RPM and we know RN often achieved greater than this. They also designed and built some autoloaders and guns for longer superheavy and potentially supercharged shells with a sub-20 second autoloaded reload.

So to answer your question, I don’t think the reload of the Lion class is that set at all.

First, they are 1944 design, which would be not in game considering laid down Lion class ships were all dismantled, so I don’t think sub-20 second autoloaded things would be applied.

Second, of course 2 RPM of Royal Navy requested would be included barrel repositioning, as most of other nations do, but we need documental proof of it.

Third, even though with 30 seconds, I think it is fair trade as Lion class is the only 16’’ ship along with Nelson class that has shell room underwater and magazine beneath it.
We already know Japanese 16’’ is quite high, and American 16’’ will have same layout as Alaska. And for Soyuz, it would be one of worst while having only one shell room per one turret, that shell room is entirely above the waterline and magazine right beneath the waterline.
So I think 6~7 seconds can be traded with maximum safety.

Yes I should’ve mentioned that, sent that from my phone. But yeah your evaluation is fair.

I think for Lions we will be trading penetration and gun handling/reload for module layout and pretty good armour. I would be very happy if Gaijin maxed out on the protection side of the Lion class as it will be its main saving grace.
