The legendary Mi-24 made its maiden flight on September 19th 1969, 55 years ago. It remains one of the most widely used attack helicopters in the world to this day. More than 3,500 Mi-24s were produced, dozens of countries used it (and still do!), and it has taken part in more than 30 different armed conflicts.

The Mi-24D temporarily returns to the game with a 30% discount!

This helicopter is available in the game with a 30% discount, at 8560 5992 Golden Eagles.

When: From today until September 23rd (07:00 GMT).

Where: USSR > Helicopters > Premium vehicles.

About this helicopter

  • The Mi-24D is one of the fastest helicopters in the game. Its armor can withstand small-caliber weapons fire, and its machine gun can deal with lightly armored opponents. But its main advantage is its wide selection of secondary weapons. From gun pods, free-falling bombs to missiles and rockets. The S-24 rockets and Falanga ATGM with up to 650 mm armor penetration are particularly good to use!

Also until September 23rd (07:00 GMT), there’s a 30% discount for the Mi-24P HFS80 (Germany) and Mi-24P (Italy), for 6,111 Golden Eagles each. Be sure to take advantage of this opportunity to try out the legendary Soviet helicopter in the research trees of other countries!

Radar unit for guiding iirc

it’s what it uses to guides its missiles

@Surbaissemaxxing it guides the ATGMs via radar?

It should, I think it was for Shturm only, however I’m not sure.

Should be part of the Radushka-S system to guide the Shturm missile.

I love all the additions of the extra internal modules (for both tanks and helis), but we all know as of this moment, any helicopter without the extra modules is as strong as a wet paper bag 😂 I am looking forward to the rest of the helis getting the internal modules, but imo we need an immediate “fix”/stop gap measure for the rest of the helis without them.

I was initially worried about the extra modules in ground units, specifically for the 2S38 as I have it and enjoy playing it. But after using it AND fighting against it, I can say I really like the results. More fair/balanced/realistic to me. So I know it will be worth the time and effort to give the helis the same treatment, but when the new modules were added to a few tanks, the rest of the tanks didn’t turn into squishy targets 😉

I look forward to the “tanky” helis getting all their redundant internals and armor modeled properly. Not only will it be enjoyable to play them, but will also convince players to use SPAAs more often and/or take rounds specifically to counter helis/air targets (like the proximity fused HEATFS shells in the Abrams etc.) But when a heli can be taken out with a 7mm machine gun, there is hardly any incentive to take something specifically designed to take out helis/air targets.

Thanks Devs, keep up the good work, but please do something to make the other helis viable to use in the meantime 🙏
