This topic is already completed it just wont let me delete it for some reason

The iris t slm has been shown in the dev stream but for some reason it has the same range as the sls. slm literally means surface launched medium range while sls means surface launched short range, there were a lot of modifications to the iris t for the slm to increase its range like an entire nose cone over the ir sensor to make it more aerodynamic. So why do they just give it the same range as the sls. its just completly ignoring the entire reason why this thing was created. If you´re simply going to artificially nerf a vehicle then why even add it in the first place.

Does the SLM have that max range in DEV server or was it just a thing they misspoke on on live stream?

SLM max range is 40km on dev server.
SLS is 12km max range.

It definitely doesn’t have a max range of 12km, but is lackluster on dev, can’t intercept munitions except fab3000 and seeker logic is very bad, the seeker doesn’t even attempt to find the target if DL is lost and sometimes the missile goes in random directions losing energy.

But it can hit stuff at 15km, probably past that as well.

thank god
in the stream they said it has the same range as the sls

They said it has the same IR range, which is true.
SLM uses datalink for the other 28km.

i know that, but they didnt explicitely say that it was the ir range which is the same, they just said it has 12 km range
as long as i didnt misunderstand something

They were explicit in the 12km terminal range.
JeanClod translated it in real time.
