This isn’t just about the VT5

This isn’t just about the VT5.Debates over the Leopard 2’s overly detailed component destruction (e.g., turret basket or backup battery hits disabling the entire tank), controversies about the S30SM’s loadout options (like the KH38), or the infamous “magic fuel tanks” and inconsistent ERA mechanics… These issues have flooded our community. We don’t seek “easy wins,” but mechanics that honor both history and gameplay.

More importantly, as a game loved by players worldwide, War Thunder should be a bridge between nations. We crave fair competition grounded in real data, not artificial imbalances that pit players against each other. When vehicle performance becomes a tool to divide communities, we lose not just the joy of battle, but our shared pursuit of authenticity.

This is a tank, not a fragile armored vehicle

I don’t want to be that person, but to be honest, Gaijin really has no interest in accurately recreating real-life vehicles. And this doesn’t just apply to Chinese vehicles—it’s the same for every country’s vehicles except Russia. They arrogantly dismiss all sources, whether first-hand documents, images, or videos, and just keep repeating their incorrect claims. If you bring up facts they don’t want to hear on the forums or in bug reports, they’ll just ban your account.

For example, Russia’s Su-30SM is allowed to carry the Kh-38 missile, which historically was only available for the Su-30SM2, yet other countries aren’t allowed historically accurate loadouts. Their excuse? “Game balance.” And instead of copy-pasting a Frankenstein J-11B for China, why not give China a Su-30MKK with better CAS capabilities? The answer is simple: they’re lazy, and copy-pasting is easier.

At the end of the day, this is just a game—don’t get too emotionally invested. These Russian devs are not worth it. To put it bluntly, we are the consumers. Shouldn’t it be the game developers’ job to research historical accuracy? Instead, we’re doing free labor for them while also enduring their unfair treatment. It’s honestly ridiculous.

I would prefer a J-11B than Su-30MKK/MKK2 since I play air battles more.
The question is why frankensteining J-11B instead of actual fix JH-7A? Gaijin?
