i still think that the mig-29 should have the r-27r and r-73 in game,
but my hopes for that actually happening are next to zero
If they remove the er and add 6 r73s its not gonna stay at 12.7 guys, it would be at 13.0. So i say keep the 27er and add the 6 73s and shove it up to 13.0, yak 141 can stay the 12.7 for russia
so why would it be 13.0 especially since i never brought up brs
it would simply not change that the US wastly outranges anything at that br (and the US airframes would be even stronger in that regard after the Mig-29 loses the r-27er)
but the mig-29 would be able to compete after closing the gap instead of just getting stomped by everything
this is called balance
one thing is good at something (for example the F-14 at BVR) and another thing is able to counter it after playing around its strengths (Mig-29 with r-73s in WVR) and that is fully ignoring that every other 4th gen at the br has a wastly better FM so it isnt even impossible for 12.7 stuff to counter the Mig-29 even after it closes the gap
Name one plane at 12.7 that have 6 irccm missiles. All of the planes that get 6 irccm missiles and no/mediocre radar missiles are at 13.0 (f16am, gripen)
both of which have wastly better flight perforamnce and avionics
you cant just balance a plane around its weapons load
those weapons are still attached to a plane
Which won’t exactly matter, because in the average air rb lobby, the mig 29 fm is not bad. It’s has great top speed, great acceleration, and lots of power. Only in a 1v1 dogfight is when it falls off.
it is mid at best meanwhile you have F-16s flying around that will just stomp the 29 after getting close

it is so good that lower BRs wouldnt be able to cope with it at all /s
but gaijin always struggeled with balancing CAS planes in ARB, even more so when they are sub sonic

Yeah… Unfortunately, but still point stands, gaijin does tend to fixate on the loadout and not necessarily the airframe more often than not and so does the community half the time. Even mention the Tornado Gr4 or any similar aircraft going down in BR, even to say. 12.0 and its “but it has Aim-9Ms, it would be too OP”
A-10C at 11.7 with 4x Aim-9m + HMD
and then there is the Mirage F1C at 12.0 with the magic being way better for ARB
I will say, with the 9M, the HMD is only useful in SB with the IFF thing. In ARB, i doubt it would change a single thing whether it had it or not. At least I barely use it on the GR4 or Typhoon. As for the A-10C itself being at 11.7… Eh… Ive never had an issue with them.
Again, with the Mirage F1C… Only 2 and then on a kinda sub-par airframe and countered by the fact you have the worst SARH of the BR. Id prefer the F3 over it most of the time.
I think too much energy is spent worrying about IRCCM or all-aspect being too low and thus aircraft suffer because 1 tiny aspect of an airframe happens to be the same as something else that is good
well the GR.4 is also a jet with 2 IRCCM missiles and sub-par flight performance
and the GR.4 dosent even get SARH missiles
imo it is somewhat fair to compare the Gr4 to the Mirage F1C
Yeah. 2000D and Gr4 could easily be 12.0. Only thing carrying the GR4 is unlimited CMs
Maybe because the exact scenario exists already with the mig29G? 13.0MM is significantly worse than 12.7.

This artificial gimping claim is garbage, gaijin usually doesnt need planes (just cause) (other than the fw190 but that’s just hilarious), the old flight model was pretty fantasy, with it gaining rate with flaps out, over performing sustained turn rate and what not below 400 kph. Yes, the currently fm is wrong too. But, let’s not act like the mig 29 was utter garbage b4
