There should be SRC mode for TWS planes

F-2A and SU-30SM have to be some of the most unwieldy planes to play with the horrible control and clumsy actions.

You are forced into the TWS mode. Target multipathing? Too bad, now your IRCCM missiles won’t work because they will just focus their eyes on the ground and now you will have to clumsily turn off your radar, then turn it on again.

And forced TWS with only SARHs is again, confusing in the heat of the battle because TWS lock and hard lock can look similar.

It’s bad for general search too, because TWS+ stupidly moves your radar dish and won’t return it to its initial position until you click a button. If your radar is pointed up and left, and a target is front of you, congrats! Now you can’t find him anymore.

If by some chance that some planes have TWS only radars in real life, at least simulate their reset to initial position as well.

Why is TWS even a thing in SARHs only planes? Moreover, why are we forced into this mode?

got a problem?

Just use HMD bruh

It’s only a button, is multi tasking a bit too much for u? Maybe try something below 11.7

Because it’s a feature not a bug, real life is not like wt my guy

F2 doesn’t get HMD

I think ur missing a few. He called the delta wing aircraft bad

Hu?

TWS works fine when the target is in ground clutter

IR missile are not affected by Multipathing. Though there is a bug at the moment where Aim-9Ms just randomly go AWOL.

Never had this issue in the Tornado F3 as its very very obvious what mode im in.

On a personal note. I love TWS over normal SRC modes and its a big reason why I prefer the Tornado F3 over something like the Phantoms.

This I will agree with, a button toggle for this would be nice and is a big part why I use manual target selection over cyclical in ASB. If I could figure out a good way to do it in ARB as well, I would. (the new mouse controls arent good enough at the moment, they need work)

So a keybind to toggle automatic target selection (that way it ONLY fixates a target when you select a target) would actually be very good.

At a bare minimum, the radar shouldnt be able to automatically select a target outside its current FoV, this is especially important for AESAs

Because the radars had them and its a good thing imo. TWS is awesome, way better than having to deal with things like PDV on the FGR2

Maybe your keybinds are clumsy? Its a you problem either way

Honestly I would appreciate TWS HDN and TWS to be a one button away from each other and not like on N011M, SRC at this level is mostly redundant

An option menu where you could configure this kind of thing would be awesome. Not just sequence but also the ability to enable/disable any and all modes you wanted (so long as the radar had them) there is a few on the Typhoon I just never use and would love to be able to toggle off.

Id also love to be able to set keybinds for specific radar modes, allowing you to instantly swap to it, in theory this should make it possible to toggle between 2 specific modes by setting them to the same binding, with camera controls, this works. (Id immediately set this up to toggle between TWS and GMTI)

Would be great, with this level of options available for an average radar at this tier, having ability to customise your radar would be goated

Biggest failure for 99% of games out there is that they just dont give players the ability to customise and configure things fully (such as UI and controls) . Making for terrible UX design that the player is forced to use. Gaijin is no different for this unfortunately

Well, radar UI update was a solid step forward, so I am willing to give gaijin some slack if they will keep working In this direction

Perhaps, but all the clutter they’ve added to the rest of the UI (control inputs appearing top left) and the entirety of whats on the bottom bar…

I think is 3 steps backwards.

Bind a key to turn off your radar and use it when TWS is unreliable. There’s so many uses to TWS aside from ARH like spotting and identifying enemies.
Oh and last, there’s no multipathing a PD radar, you still can track them.
