Hello, I would like permission to use a custom helicopter rocket sight change method that I found while working on a user vehicle.
It uses War Thunder’s user content package system and only replaces the visual rocket sight symbol. It does NOT modify, replace, or overwrite any original game files. The package remains separate within the user content folders and can be removed without affecting the original installation. The game still calculates the CCIP position, accuracy, trajectory, and dispersion normally. The sight receives no additional information and does not modify weapons, vehicles, executable code, server data, network communication, or gameplay mechanics. It works similarly to the existing
UserSights
system by changing only how aiming information already provided by the game is displayed.
As I understand it, this complies with the intent of the Terms of Service because it does not automate gameplay, reveal hidden information, interfere with the game’s operation, or alter gameplay functionality. However, because this specific method is not officially documented for online helicopter sights, I would like explicit approval before using or sharing it. If changing a reticle alone were considered an unfair advantage, the same concern would apply to existing custom tank sights. Clearer and historically accurate custom sights are already accepted there. Allowing visual only helicopter sights would benefit players creating user vehicles and historical HUDs, improve simulator immersion, and encourage more community-created content. I can provide the complete package for inspection. Could you please confirm whether this visual only sight method is allowed, or approve it under the same principle as existing custom sights? Is any mod willing to take a little time to go over this with me so we can straighten it out for approval? this has genuine potential and should not be treated lightly.
