There are two sides to the fuel tank. Is it magic armor or a bomb?

What I want to talk about is the magical thing that happened on the t80 series tanks in Russia-when the enemy hits the side of the t80 series tanks, its fuel tank will absorb all the aftereffects, resulting in the disappearance of the steel needles that should have destroyed the tanks.
This kind of thing rarely happens on tanks in other countries. Is it a bug or an official gold medal for Soviet tanks?

its what we call russian bias, because your right its rare for it to happen for other nations but russian fuel tanks eat shrapnel like spall liners.

all integral fuel tanks are same. except T-90M, which has spall liner and removed explosion ability. consider usual fuel tank behavior

It happens with all fuel tanks that doenst have a bulkhead behind it, so you trade spall reduction for fuel explosion chance(Except the t90m), this also happens on tanks like the leclerc

Even if the fuel tank does not explode, the steel needle should not disappear directly, but continue to fly even if it does not bring out fragments.

The apfsds does not dissapear, the spall that generated does, if it “disappear” it is likely from a different issues not from the fuel tanks, like volumentric or from some bugs.
