The Strv 103; Appreciating the Cheese Wedge

Across my time playing War Thunder, I have encountered a select few vehicles which have truly enthralled me as a player, the Strv 103 series being some of those, with access to some of the best firepower at the respective BRs but with an interesting caveat, the lack of a turret…

I have had countless hilarious moments putting APDS rounds straight through the UFPs of Soviet MBTs from over 2km and watching as my engine tanks the umpteenth round from a whole enemy team while laughing with my single crew member and a dream.

This thread is revolving around experiences, discussion, tips and appreciation for the most unique MBT in game. Please feel free to send gameplay footage or Screenshots and also please avoid pointless arguments.

For control tips set the hull aim to “X”, with this is easily to change for movement and engage mode as we can refer to this,

My experience with the vehicle, all variants was very nice I can’t lie and say it’s bad just because the stabilization while using the hull aim, this, in my opinion is the only issue, It’s a bug that persist since the vehicle addition, we all hope it gets fixed along with Hydropneumatic suspension vehicles like TKXs and Type 10s that struggles while moving in the lowest suspension configuration.

I don’t know why people still bringing the vehicle with half ammo but I prefer taking it with 1/4 of HESH and the rest APDS or APFSDS if C variant. The vehicle itself is very situational but If you know positioning you can pretty easily hold some positions in most maps and the crew positions surely will make the enemy waste some shots even by the side.

In general the vehicle is good and in experienced hands can be operated in most maps except by the stabilization issue that most times need to be manual adjusted because of a aim offset.
