About this aircraft

  • The Spitfire Mk IXc (Rank IV, USSR) features a good rate of climb and is excellent in turn fighting. This aircraft has two 20 mm Hispano Mk.II cannons and four 7.7 mm Browning machine guns in the wings, making it great for shooting down other aircraft.

Great aircraft for the Soviet tech tree. One of the easiest 5.7s to fly in RB.

One of the best British-built prop. but shared with every allied nation. :/

By the way, will it be too nasty if Sovietfire gets name change into [Matsievich’s Spitfire Mk.IXc] just like in terms of [Eremin’s Yak-3]?
Just [Spitfire Mk.IXc] seems lame

Of course, the only good aircraft on the Soviet TT is British :P

I was thinking of buying it, but is it even worth it though?

Got this from an SL crate last year, heavily recommend very fun plane

Mk9 spitfires are some of the best props in the game

The Plagis' Spitfire LF Mk IXc | War Thunder Wiki is my go to prop and is virtually the same (If not identical) to this premium

(I prefer the 303s over the 50 cals for some reason)

Awfully convenient that the best spitfire in the game without any a doubt in my mind is the one that’s shared with the soviets, and its TT equal is shared with the Americans (slightly less good but still second best)

its identical to the plagis other than skin so yea its my go to spit too

Thought it was but didn’t want to commit to that statement. Yeah, it’s the perfect balance of aircraft performance. Even better when you master MEC with it

Its an LF mkIX with the 4 browning .303s and two hispanos so its better than the LF mk IX in the British TT and American premium due to the amount of lead going downrange.

Ive won 4v1s in the LF 9 against Japanese props before its incredible at turnfights, floats when without energy and you cant escape it in a vertical. the only way to win is to risk it and extend out as its slow compared to all other 5.7s

I think it’s largely personal preference. Strengths and weaknesses to both but yeah, I’ve won 1v3 in the Plagis Vs FW190s

I love the quad hispano spitfires more than the plagis but I absolutely do better in dogfights with a LF IXc than in a mkVc, mk24 or any other fighter tbh

I think the greatest weakness of the 24 is the BR. 5.7 is the sweet spot where you cannot see most jets and few props can truly challenge the spitfire. So the Mk9 just does well.

nah 6.7 is more than fair for the 24. Its only problem is with the disgustingly undertiered SU9 and SU11. Everything else it will hammer pretty easily. quite good for CAS too

No, I agree. 24 belongs at 6.7. what I mean is that the Mk9 does better than the 24, because 5.7 is just an overall better BR imo for any prop. I find any prop above 5.7 a chore

I find 6.7 to be an easier BR because of the mk24 being able to accelerate and turn better than the early jets. it really is an easy mode.

5.7 is a more sweaty BR as it is the pinnacle of prop fighters for WT

facing early jets means operation maps all the time tho.

You gain speed faster, turn faster and have guns powerful enough to take them out in a single burst. you do very well. I average 3-5 kills in the mk24 in air RB

Been wanting this for years, shame I’ll have to wait another year. 6000 GE is just too much
