Any tips for getting through the sherman grind?
Depends what you mean by that question; if you’re playing USA and want to skip the Sherman spam and go straight to the 7.0 heavies or whatever, then you just have to stick it out. Not much you can do other than bypass.
If you’re talking about the stock grind, play more passively. Use your teammates as meat shields when possible, “camp” in an area for a bit, as in, use buildings or terrain to hide your flanks. Rush parts and M61 shot, then you can play a bit more relaxed.
Thank you! Ever i kept pushing and its ended up in me dying repeatedly… i will try to slow it down a bit.
I find Shermans to be really good, my two highest killing games (23 and 24 kills respectfully) were in the Sherman ii and Sherman I Composite respectively, however both of those were spaded (Composite being the best Sherman in the game though). I am inherently an aggressive player, as such the spaded style of the Sherman gravitates towards me (quick reload, good armour, good handling, short-stop stab), however when you have the M72 Shot as your main shell it’s not a good tank. As soon as you get the M61 shot you immediately will find a massive increase in capabilities.
Ill work towards that its just the gind is a bit killing me and I biught two top teirs thinking it would help but man… its rough.
it’s definitely rough. good luck
Thank you for the tips, I really appreciate it!
You’re welcome, if you need anything else lmk
If i recall correctly, the 75mm Shermans are plagued by an ineffective initial ammo (AP)…research APCPB as fast as possible…your kills will increase A LOT.
Depending on how you play (if you get hit a lot) you may do the repairs first or go straight for the ammo…
76mm shermans work much better…but they are vulnerable to opps…you “just” need to hit first…the good news is that the gun is much better also.
Don’t JUST camp, learn to have a “feel” for when it’s better to set up ambush or when it’s better to make an aggressive flank using your stabilizer
aphe, side shots, and angling. plus treat them like light tanks (hit and run tactics)
