The Royal Malaysian Air Force Subtree is Coming to War Thunder!

So, you ignore any differences and unique parts (beides F/A-18D being a whole new model) of all three and call them straight up copy paste, because you don’t care about it anyways?

you mention the R-27 and R-73 only, has the R-77s been removed from its loadout even tho its still in the pictures?

Swiss ground subtree is currently in [REDACTED]

Then tell us if you care so much, whats so unique besides flags and reskinned?

You can find that out by yourself by reading

I dont really see how a DAMOCLES pod completely negates the fact the SU30 alone is just copypasted lol. And wowzers! A second seat on the F18! So unique such wow, now where does it change the fact its still a boring excuse to add ANOTHER F18 that brings nothing to the table besides being one?

Overall I’m really happy to see this, there’s some interesting unique variants for Malaysia and it’s always nice to see more twin seaters.

But…

It seems like you forgot the most unique weapon on the platform, the AIM-9L/M Sidewinder, which is used on the LAU-7 launch rail that seems to have been serially integrated with the type.

LAU-7 with P5 CTS

I hope this is still added before the update is finalized, since it is a really unique concept and really works well with the general concept of their “westernized” MiG.

I hope we will see the CAC Sabre complement this subtree soon as well.

Anyhow looking forward to round 3 of opolot discourse when Object 478DU8 drops

whole new model

MKM comes before SM im pretty sure (first flight 2003 vs 2012), has some new armament and avionics the SM doesn’t have (MAWS + LWS)

Yeah just give Japan the top tier of every nation, surely a great idea.

MiG-29N is a new model and a unique 9.12 w/ R-77s + R-73s, F/A-18D is a new model, different flight performance and unique considering no other tree has a F/A-18D, and Su-30MKM has new armament and different avionics.

Nah, it’s actually a good one if you think about it. You have so many options in one line up. Brawling? Take the T-series, maybe in the future the vt-4. Sniping/flanking? Take Type-10/90. Then there’s a leopard for something, I dunno.

thank god its not going to china.

but for goodness sake why is every subtree just an excuse to shoehorn soviet vehicles into every tree?

The F/A-18D is a twin seat aircraft, so it adds a bit of weight in exchange for looking a lot better. Not the most significant change, but it’s felt.

The MiG-29N is a lot more interesting than that though, since it’s based on the 9.12SD variant we have not seen in game yet. What this adds is new engines, reinforced hardpoints and midair refueling, though the only one of these changes that would be felt in gameplay would be the updated N019ME radar.
It also has a lot of Malaysian specific components such as updated avionics in English, English voice warning system, as well as a domestic modification to integrate the AIM-9 that would still keep it unique compared to a potential MiG-29SD in another techtree, should we ever see it.
