As long as the copy paste fills gaps and we still get unique Malaysian vehicles it’s fine in my books.
Tbh would’ve liked an ASEAN tree but alas.

That’s pretty much what Japan is turning into at this point, it’s getting to the point where pretty much the only thing Japan about it will be the flag on the nation selector, and its strong and large WW2 roster, but at high tiers it’ll be carried by or supplemented by other nations, THA-MAL-INDO branches should be just as valid as anything in the tree, Japan will carry itself again at 5th generation but in the meantime the friendly neighbors can join forces and help

Sim needs fixed lineups, and to allow vehicles from one nation on both sides. GDR vs BDR for example.
Operator based matchmaking would (currently) only work in air battles, as in ground battles you would end up with a lot of completely dysfunctional line-ups.
The vehicle whitelist system they currently use for ground sim would work for air as well, so that could be used as a band-aid fix for the brackets where mirror matches are problematic.
On a sidenote, Gaijin really needs to work on improving the ground sim vehicle whitelists to better reflect nation alignments and reduce the amount of unrealistic mirror matches.
I agree!
Only in Air realistic, no? Air arcade definitely needs line-ups, and so does simulator depending on how the match develops.
Only in air realistic can one only use a singular vehicle like in Squadron Realistic Events.
I agree, some nations like China and Germany could even be split this way so they can fight their own inner factions.
At this point, Japan is just going to become Polish Ukrainian tree
Absolutely NOT, Fixed lineups are horrible and it’ll kill player freedom just like in GSB.
Sim already has alot of issues from being neglected for years, players dont need a new reason to not play sim because their plane isnt in the rotation.
We don’t have any copy-paste Malaysian vehicles at this point.
Calling Su-30MKM “copy-paste” is akin to calling Sea Vixen copy-paste.
Which is why I’d like to believe that accusations of copy-paste is all just ragebait.
The alternative is worse…
this is a really bad take even by your standards.
would make 4 nation squads have better matchmaker times sure. but other than that its not great.
war thunder may not be an immersion game but it would really take me out of the game if i randomly start seeing my nation unique vehicle on the enemy team. Was a reason why i ditched arcade tbh.
asymmetrical nation battles gives war thunders battles another layer of tactical procedure that is completley lost by everyone appearing on both.
there would be no more “oh im facing america 8.7 i need to watch for XM800T” or “im facing 6.7 germany better take APDS” it would be thinned down to WoT levels of lane camping permanently, it would kill the game
right now the only copy-paste jet that could be added is F-5E, but shouldn’t as the Thai has a better version of it. Same goes for future Indonesian subtree, like 4 major nations in the regions all operate F-5E. there’s also A-4 Skyhawks too, A-4PTM also quite possible (basically lite version of A-4M maybe?), though Singaporean A-4SU may be a better choice but still uncertain as Singapore will be multi tree nation so we don’t know what jet will get added to which tree, and Indonesian Skyhawk probably less likely since it was an Israeli Ayit (plus being the skin for the premium A-4E too)
On the other side, exporting is a big reason some nations have such large military industries in the first place. Those “shithole nations” essentially finance and drive the content you get, at the cost of some vehicles being present in said other nations.
You can’t just choose to keep the benefit, but wave away the drawbacks.
There’s still plenty of unique vehicles and variants that weren’t exported for all nations, and this is where major exporters again shine because they generally have more of their own entirely unique designs here while importing nations rely more on variants of existing designs.
the last thing this game needs is yet another F-5.
missing from the tt of its creator. and its literally just a 2 seater C late. the Sukhoi is slightly more different but still basically just an Su-30SM in the Japanese tree. the F-2 thing is a false equivalent also, not comparable
Why on earth would an Australian modified USA jet armed with British ADEN cannons and powered by a British Rolls-Royce Avon engine go into the Japanese/ Malaysian tree?
Hopefully we get some lower tier planes in these sub trees. Would like for Japan to get a good prop attacker
Malaysia used the Avon Sabre from RAAF stock. Some of these were then used to provide aircraft to Indonesia, as a show of goodwill among South East Asian neighbors.
Huh… interesting, thanks for the info. I never heard of that before.
I feel like some people really need to understand that without copypaste/export vehicles a good amount of nations in the game would be completely dead at top tier or severely lack a lot of capabilities, imagine investing all that in a tree just to realise your CAS sucks forever
