Those would be new vehicles essentially. In my opinion they should return the originals first with minor adjustments and add the more plausible ones later. Maybe folder the Accurate variants with the originals, so the player can choose.
I would rather not give gaijin the green light to remove vehicles from player’s inventories

Yes, but I just don’t see gaijin returning the removed trio ever. MAYBE the Coelian since it’s the most plausible.
The R2Y2s are also planned to be removed and they’ve been in the game for years now…

That’s possible. I do recall seeing an image claiming to be 1 of 3 range finders built for the project but was never fitted. The range finder physically existing means it could be considered a partial prototype. It’s the main part of the project.

It’s in Bovington though, and they’re known for making mistakes. Hopefully someone has some primary or secondary sources to confirm this.

It has been my opinion for a while to give the Tiger II 10.5cm kwk this rangefinder along with a slight turret and turret ring remodel to make it more tolerable for vehicle standards. None of the three are completely fake, even the Gaijin Panther II combines many real projects.
Yeah but It’s a frankentank that combines one real thing, one half done thing, and one completely paper thing. Don’t forget the NVD’s they have slapped on it for good measure

But that makes it so unique and worth getting. Sure I am probably never gonna use the NVD, but it the whole package is just cool.

And the Coelian for Sim.

Their planned but Gaijin has not found any proper replacements so its not gonna for who knows how long.

No, that just makes another 100% fake tank instead of a paper based one. Range finder Tiger II should be a seperate vehicle.
Also, the in-game 105 already, incorrectly, has the range finder.
Fine, current KT105 without the rangefinder, but the gunner is so competent that there is no difference.
Would need the engine swapped to the HL230 instead of the HL234. The Tiger II 105 suffers from the exact same problem as Gaijins Panther II it’s absolutely fake and a mixture of projects forming a “what-if” vehicle.
Tiger 105 to be as realistic as possible would be exactly the same as the regular Tiger II, just with a different gun. So that means:
- No rangefinder.
- No 4th crewmen in the turret.
- Replace engine with HL230.
- Needs the breech corrected as it’s a copy-paste of the 88mm.

I know this is your opinion and I respect you having it, but this quoted Point just doesn’t apply to War Thunder. The Ho-229 is completely unrealistic also, with the issues filling countless pages, but Gaijin have no interest in adressing them. Pretty much everything at top Tier is speculative and make believe, or do you think the Devs have access to the blueprints and manuals of a vehicle like the Leopard 2A7V or the F-15 MSIP II?
And what about realism and authentizity? Are the three German Tanks really that bad for it, when the F-117 cockroach will be facing enemy vehicles from 30-40 years in the past? As long as there are no glaring problems like clipping modules, the Tiger II 10.5, Panther II and Coelian should return as they are. Tagged as speculative, with realistic variants coming later as additions.

We’ve had that discussion elsewhere. If Gaijin label them as fake I don’t mind them being seasonal unlock vehicles. Possibly re-add the Maus into the tree permanently and then alternate the fake Panther II and fake Tiger 105 as temporary unlocks.
I’ve got no issues with Coelian. In my eyes it fits the partial prototype category.

On a semi-related note, I would be interested in Gaijin putting their re-addition to a vote like they did with the APHE changes. It would be great to see where the majority of the playerbase lies on this.
