The requirement to research and purchase EVERY SINGLE Rank VI ship to unlock Rank VII is excessive, specially for some nations

The requirement to unlock Naval Rank VII should be even out across nations.

  • Yes, the requirement should be unified and lowered.
  • No, it’s fine as it is.

Considering that each of these costs 400,000 RP and 1,000,000 SL to unlock and purchase, I think it’s quite excessive.

What is the point of branch arrows if you need to research and purchase each and every single vehicle on the previous rank with no exception anyway?

Specially when there’s a huge disparity in requirements between nations given the availability of vehicles.

For instance, Italy unlocks Rank VII after 2 Rank VIs, and France, after just 1… but an American player needs to research and purchase SIX (6) such vehicles.

EDIT: Excellent news for British and American Naval players! My goal was to reduce the requirement to 4 so it helped Japan too, but this is still a very welcome step in the right direction; and, to be fair, I didn’t specify either.

Also- to be fair as well, I didn’t specify the 4 ship figure on my original post; I left the measures to be taken up to Gaijin themselves. Maybe if I had specified it could have been achieved, or maybe it would have been deemed too much for them.

In any case, glad now American players don’t need C*lorado to get Iowa! (Or Alaska).

At this point they either need to at least double the RP reward you get or half the RP cost of Naval to compensate for the much slower nature of a naval battle.
Ground is a much faster “gameplay” and in Air you can attack ground targets to get points and dont have to rely as much on Destroyed playervehicles in comparison to naval.

Mayby a PVE mode that would be ecential the same as the EC maps on the weekends with more AI and secondary targets could help aswell eassen the grind

I made a Reddit thread where I linked this topic for increased reach and awareness;

https://www.reddit.com/r/Warthunder/comments/1kz8mb3/the_requirement_to_research_and_purchase_every/

Exactly. RP earnings are low enough already, and these absurd unlock requirements are just the last straw. Any hype I could have had has been blasted into the ground when I logged into the Dev Server and came across this aberration.

I hope it is addressed and corrected.

Holy shit this is actually ridiculous, you basically need to unlock the entire US tech tree to even start grinding Iowa

I earn around 15 to 20k in average research per match using a premium ship and premium account, besides that naval matches tend to be longer compared to other modes, most of them being more than 20 min, I really hope that these requirements are greatly reduced, imagine those who don’t have a ship or a premium account, the top tier grind is currently discouraging.

i think Rank VI will redule half of the RP each, and Rank V will reduce about 1/3 RP
then gaijin keep ignore players suggesstion and force players research all the Rank VI to unlock Rank VII

if gaijin could buff RP bonus, reduce RP for Rank V and VI,then reduce the requirement to research rank VII to 2~3 ships will be awesome

gaijin just forcing players unlock entire tree for each nation to get its Rank VII
they always did that, like when Rank VI was introduced isn’t it?

Same. With Premium account and Talisman, I earn around 25k per 25 minute match. The rate for average-good performance is around 1,000 RP per minute with these conditions.

So it takes me around 7 hours of pure gameplay to unlock a single Rank VI ship.

The grind is WAY too bad already to make it even worse by locking Rank VII behind the requirement to research and purchase pretty much every single ship on a tree.

I get on average 10k with a Prem Ship/account and normally a 20%RP booster with a good round.
and this really discorrages me to play naval for a longer period of time.
with the same things but in air i could do 200k while not playing the whole day and this is a huge diffrence.

I really want to love Top naval but the progression is the only thing keeping me away from it :/

Exactly.

I was planning and willing to play for hours every day after the update after I had unlocked every Rank VII I have available; and even had purchasing some GE and future British Premium as a token of appreciation for the update.

But seeing this makes me not even want to touch Naval unless they change it.

Even just reducing the requirement by 1 on the nations with highest requirements would be enough. But having to grind through EVERY vehicle is just too much.

now THAT’S a milking gatekeep.
Shameful, really.

yeah, we need more folders and stuff in general

I flat out stopped playing naval after seeing the overwhelming amount of RP was required for mid ships due to “nerfs”/br compression, and just for it to be REQUIRED, now to get one of the best battleships one nation has (besides paper ships)

The rewards was underwhelming, the time was consuming, the reward cap needs to be removed in general…

rewards for battleship gameplay can easily be doubled/tripled if rewards stay the same/cap… not all naval needs it, just the slower non meta vehicles with “nerfs”

A rare adequate spanish avenger post with which I agree. I was so hyped for Iowa that I was almost ready to the tech-tree before her, and herself too, but knowing that it means GEing ENTIRE Rank 6 naval of US? That is too much, honestly.

and with the BR changes i feel personally that the br gap between at least america ships just not worth it. so they are stuck with mid ship[s and a br a tad to high, while dealing with millions of rp of “pretty much the same ship” even if in real life behaved differently.

It feels like Gaijin wants to force you to buy a premium at rank VI-VII because the grind just steps up exponentially, specially for naval. I like this game mode but this grind seriously drives me away from it. And to make it worse now they’re adding fantasy soviet ships that will give THE YAMATO itself a run for its money. Are they scared to remove a game mode so now they do everything they can to force people out of it?

No different or even better then the monster that is the us tech tree. Its just you have to start the grind over again and dont want to.

1- The RP earnings in Naval per minute and match are drastically lower than Ground.

With Premium account;

An above-average 9 minute match in Ground will give you 8,000 RP.
An above-average 25 minute match in Naval will give you 15,000 RP.

That makes the grind effectively twice as slow, in a nutshell.

2- Most Ground trees do not require to research and purchase each and every single Rank VII vehicle and line to unlock access to Rank VIII.

Naval grind is so slow that a premium is not even worth it.
