The R-77 'ADDER' - History, Design, Performance & Discussion

r-77 should be able to fired at ±180 degrees angles (no limits)? (before launch)

wouldn’t this mean the motor is over performing? currently its 23,000N for 6 seconds and according to some math that may be wrong the max would be 22,854N for 6 seconds. and if that’s the case its thrust would need a nerf since the amraam and other missiles are under their reported thrust for warthunders sake of realism (ex c-5 is apparently 16772N for 7.75 seconds but is 15542N ingame)

definitely. but i cant report that because thats datamined values (i already know that r771 and r77 are overperforming in motor and range but i cant use footage from the ukraine russia war to show that or datamined values)

How good is the source from where you took this one? Because the missile count on platforms is all over the place (4 R-27s on MiG-29SMT, 10-14 RVV-AE on Su-33)

yeah… its a old encolypedia from the 90s? i think i have on my old pc, was just scrolling randomly and found it. it was made by vympel and other ddesigners but some of the data is prollyincorrect due to classification (on my laptop rn so cant access it ill double cheeck in a bit)

wish gaijin had transparency so we could actually resolve some issues

14 RVV-AE on Su-35 listed could be an indirect hint at double pylons between nacelles being developed at the time (this Su-35 listed is probably Su-27M if it is from the 90s as you say), but R-27 missile count numbers are all over the place to trust this one (but to be fair they slammed R-27R, T, ER and ET in a single column so only god knows what are those numbers).

Does gaijin consider this book as a legitimate source?

idk ill find out when they answer this bug report. its been recommended by bbrcrf if you know who that is so i trust it
@BBCRF

Seems you got cucked with “not enough data”

yeah just one secondary source. need 2 then, ill find one from a magazine or something

Ngl if implemented it will be pretty huge buff to 29SMT and 30SM (if gaijin gonna tread 77-1 same way) with their insane gimbal limits

771 already has ±180 launch limits along with mica. I’m tying to get base r77 to have that as well

Really? I guess I haven’t been in a situation when it was required. Also aren’t 77 and 77-1 use same seeker? Iirc -1 upgrades were aerodynamics, battery life and a bit more engine.

R-77-1 irl has a newer seekerhead but in game it’s identical to normal r77 and all other fox 3s other than phoenix and mica

Any publicly known figures for that seeker? Would be great to have something to base a report on for it, as I hope and expect that MICA’s won’t be the only privileged missile anymore for the foreseeable future…

I only found the names. R-77 uses 9B-1348 (RVV-AE 9B1348E), R-77-1 uses 9B-1103M.

Agat also showed in 2014 9B-1103M-200PS and 9B-1103M-200PA with additional passive and semi-active channels accordingly for Izd 170-1 and 180 missiles but it is unknown if they are used.

Found a pdf of this one, gonna read it during free time

it’s in russian though, just a warning, i just used a machine translator.
also for any source i post you can just ask me to provide it to you, i dont mind sharing files to anyone unless the person who gave it to me explicitly said to not share them
