there are HUD footages showing R-77-1s being used in combat at BVR but we can’t confirm whether it hit or missed the target.
su35 has about 1~2° more sustained turn and better flight efficiency, I estimate that su35 has almost 0.05~0.09 more oswald factor than su27s/sm, if it comes right it will be the best for a long time, even just with r77-1s and no r37ms, and its also a little early for r77m
Issue is that PESA radar won’t give it much of an edge vs F15s and EFs which will likely be just as if not faster than it, and if AMRAAM Cs are done properly they would be similar to R77-1.
Su27sm itself already follows them in a certain way, I can easily reach mach 1.6 at the start of the match, of course the Eurofighter is something difficult to overcome especially at low/mid altitudes, but the su35 has a much better radar, and also flies much faster, because the AL41 has a new engine technology, at high altitudes it will perform as well as a pw229, maybe better bcs it can supercruise, less fuel consumption even on full burner and everything else

Well CAPTOR is crap RN but in theory they would be more competitive, also there is still the CAPTOR E. F15s with AESA would also be faster still, even though they are bricks it wouldn’t make any difference in BVR and they have more CMs. My guess is in the new META, it will be like a J11B RN, where it is relatively fast, has good missile and good radar, bit of an all rounder, but can’t quite compete with the fastest BVR jets, but it does far better at low speeds.
even if it comes artificially nerfed, like the Flankers are nowadays, it won’t be bad, I personally really enjoy flying with their new FM, I remember when I played the su27 at its release and it went from 1100km/h to 500km/h in a 180° turn lol, I said it will be the best if it comes right, if it comes as things are now it will be analogous to any other good plane out there
Well, we’ve achieved some good things here, for example, look at how it was when it was released, I lost 300km/h in 9~11g curves where I literally forced some negative g so that the energy wouldn’t bleed completely
the plane wasnt even that heavy, about 16 minutes of fuel and 8 missiles, it was ridiculous
its azimuth coverage is plenty enough it will be able to launch r27er , notch or even partially fly cold while still maintaining a radar lock.

I believe that although the euro radar is underperforming, what most affects its overall performance is the poor coding of the radar in the game, which is full of bugs and everything else
I haven’t watched your channel at that time yet, but i usually check new videos to learn some tricks. I agree that even if it will be artificially nerfed - it will be competitive airframe at top tier even without R-37M or upgraded Fox-2s. Besides it will bring some nice QoL things like MAW or IRST that works as a targeting pod with laser designator.
