The Promised "Sea Eagle" on the Hawk and the case for other ASMs

From this: [Development] Hawk 200: Wings of Prey! - News - War Thunder

We can see the promise of the Sea Eagle ASM. Due to the target of this missile being ships, and the argument (presented by staff in the first Rafale thread) when requesting exocet was “We won’t be adding missiles that aren’t capable of use in multiple modes” I would posit that we should be seeing the introduction of ASMs such as Harpoon and Exocet. This argument was presented alongside the introduction of the ASM 1 / ASM 2, which cannot be utilised for any other target but ships, and Sea Eagle further degrades this defence.

In the case of Exocet, it would be reasonable to add it to the game on the Etendards, if we are not inclined to add to more capable French aircraft. I do not know enough about Harpoon to make a case for how to add it, so I will leave that to the Americans, as they invariably come up with some leap of logic to facilitate their wants. The current restriction of ASMs to 3 nations (We could argue Russia’s kh 59 is an anti ship missile, so 4 if you count it) generally restricts the ability for the game to introduce more naval targets for attackers to engage with. This would open up the option for another carrier to land at, and a more fleshed out defensive screen for said carriers.

As it stands, we should see work to introduce Exocet and Harpoon, alongside alternatives for other trees such as RBS 15.

The US has comparable missiles to the KH-59 with the AGM-84 and AGM-84E. AGM-84E especially, being the land attack specialized variant of the Harpoon AShM. There’s no reason for Gaijin to deny them any longer.

Great, then go create a thread about it. This is regarding specifically missiles intended for maritime targets.

I’m supporting your thread because like Sea Eagle the Harpoon (AGM-84A,B,C and D) is an anti shipping weapon that should be added, has broadly similar characteristics and like Sea Eagle to Martel also has a land attack variant that is lightly modified (AGM-84E) and therefore is easy to model and implement for Gaijin.

No need to be so aggressive.
