Gaijin has said SK won’t be the Sub-tree of Japan. There is an official statement on that.
Due to this there and some things that were passed to the devs there is a 95% chance it will be a Siam/Thailand sub-tree for Japan.
It and plans for Poland are all we know right now for potential next-nation info.
I’ll be trying to figure out how M113s with Dutch turrets are copy paste and Belgian M41s are copy paste.
Or Jpz-4/5 except it has various new features such as laser rangefinder thus fundamentally changing how the vehicle functions. More such cases exist but I can’t be bothered since others will already comment on that anyways.
Nevermind the fact that this does ignore a lot of the domestic production and designs too, it’s like naming all German “copy paste” vehicles and forgetting they have an entire industry of their own
There is no hate at all… at least as far as I’m concerned.
It seems like there’s a fundamental misunderstanding, because it’s like having two parallel discussions at once.
One is about which vehicles should/shouldn’t be added to the game. The other is about how to organise them.
I’m absolutely in favour of ever-expanding the game. I just don’t think nation-based tech trees are fit for purpose as an organising principle anymore.
Given that BASE M41’s where in service pre modifiction, and would be part of the earlier tech tree if added, thats why It would be copy and paste, unless you want a stabilized and therm equipped M41 at 5.0?
Missed on that one
Same as the M41 modification, the base model is a C&P and would be lower than the modified version
Again, what domestic production? The Fokker reserve tier planes? The handful of armored car/APC designs
I still think there is still space for proper independent tech trees. Not like a sea of them but 4 or 5 nations max and sub trees that could be added into them.
It saddens me to see that all your scientific decorum regarding research comes to ‘cope’. Then, instead of countering my arguments with your own, you change the subject to the BeNeLux suggestion, while doing that you make another ignorant statement about the uniqueness of that tech tree’s suggestion while taking the vehicles suggested at face value.
And tell me exactly why the extensive modifications get ignored?
Who is to say base M41 even has to be added with so many alternatives being available.
Of course you did, just as you missed the myriad of Belgian variants too.
Perhaps having a look at some point would’ve helped that.
Exactly, which means we’re looking at a unique vehicle.
Yes, as well as local light tanks and SPAA systems, fleets of vehicles, extensive turret industry in Belgium, you name it…
Oh this. I know about this but at the same time Gaijin made the special event to appreciate the Turkish community so there is a high chance for Turkey as well. There is also Hungarian Air Tree in the works.
Pattons: the M47 has a laser rangefinder, not copy paste
M41: which one? the one with the LCTS turret or the one with the Cockerill Mk.IV? not CP.
Firefly: copy paste
M26: copy paste
Leopard 1A5: different (better) Belgian shell, not copy paste.
M24: new electrical transmission, better mobility and reverse speed, not CP.
Gepard: CP.
JPK-90: laser rangefinder, different powerpack, not CP.
M109: probably CP but i know there’s a M108/109 hybrid horror around.
M113: which ones, the ones with the Cockerill 25 or 90 mm turrets? not CP.
Mirage IIIC: Flares/chaff dispenser, different missiles, other avioncs changes and a variant with canards. Not CP.
The rest are pretty much CP although they were license produced in Belgium.
Dutch “CP”
Spoiler
Leopards: CP.
CV9035: specifically dutch variant, not CP.
M113: not the most unique but not copy pasted from anything either.
Cheetah: i believe the radar is different, but i am not as comfortable with Dutch stuff (valid for other Dutch vehicles, feel free to correct me)
M109 (L52): Dutch prototype with a longer barreled cannon.
M47: that’s not in the tree is it?
Centurion: some are CP, some are not with an improved powerpack.
Firefly: i believe it is CP
Shermans: not unique but i believe variants not in game.
Crusader: …that’s not in the tree either
M3: same thing? don’t remember that in the tree
The following planes are either indeed copy paste, specific dutch variants or straight up not in the tree.
So as you can see a lot of the copy paste comes from high tier air, but you wouldn’t happen to main a tree in the same situation would you?
Again, what is “Unique” about a tree that is very much copy and paste? A handful of modified vehicles, another smaller handful of domestic production?
Thats not even to mention the other slew of issues regarding such a tree. Why would people want to grind a tree that doesnt offer anything really unique and full of C&P? Israel is already one of the least played trees, and China while growing more and more popular, was disliked for the longest time because of how C&P heavy it was at release. What about the big BR gaps Israel and to a lesser extent Sweden and China experience?
