Okayyyy, topic probably beaten to death. but anywayyy
The NS-45’s APHE is completely breaking mid-tier Ground RB, not because of its penetration, but because of its explosive power. This round is like firing a 75mm Sherman APHE, but from a small, fast, hard-to-hit aircraft. It’s so powerful that it feels like a 155mm shell, deleting crews or even ammo with a single hit. Even the soviet 122mm APHE feels weak in comparison lol, which is just absurd for a 45mm round.
The real issue is how this shell interacts with roof armor. Tanks with 10-30mm armor are easy targets, and when this round detonates, it obliterates everything inside. Combine that with the fact that the Yak-9K is quick and hard to hit with SPAA, and you’ve got a enemy that can be brought into the match for a low spawn cost.
This has been fun for a while, but it’s starting to get old. I’ve reached the point where I spawn SPAA first thing because I know that if the enemy racks up a few kills, there will be 2-4 Yak-9Ks inbound, shredding our side in no time. It’s frustrating as all to see tanks rush in, grab a cap or kill, and then immediately have a Yak-9K or TIS MA to dominate the match until everybody is in SPAAs. And the remaining enemy tanks rolls up on ur spawn. Sure, it’s fun to play, but it’s starting to feel unfair.
The 45mm APHE round is way too powerful for its size, and it’s ruining the experience for everyone. The damage needs to be reduced, and ammo loadouts need adjustments to stop the spam-and-wipe playstyle. Finally, the Yak-9K’s SP cost should be increased to that of a strike aircraft or bomber make it more balanced.
At this point, the NS-45 feels like it’s dominating with no real downsides. It’s fun to play, sureee, but we need to make sure that everyone can enjoy the game fairly. We’ve seen similar issues with Germany’s 50mm APCR and 30mm AP belts; now it’s time to address this.
