This is true for other modes too (air sim cough cough!!!)
Grinded up to rank3 because of bp challenges, it was a torture and a waste of time (because after all the bs and lies they told in the last bp video I won’t do it anymore)

As soon as they are done selling the $80 premium BBs they probably will.
All these changes seem aimed towards suckering in new players to buy premiums before they realize just how bad the mode is now.
Oh yes, we all already knew what they think of player opinion, it’s just rare for Gaijin to spell it out so clearly…
Great job on making Naval both unrealistic and unfun.
In Gaijin’s mind, just keep shoot BB with 6in HE shell, and it will sunk in no time.
In reality, a ship’s captain would not send damage control teams and substitutes to repair and replace minor components like damaged anti-aircraft guns and secondary guns on the deck under intense artillery fire. Doing so would be no different from disregarding human lives. At most, they would rush to repair extremely important components like the engine.
We’ve had banger additions in the grind events; Baltimore, Mackensen and Strasbourg just to name a few.
We also got ships that ruined updates (Gneisenau and Sevastopol straight up ruining the 6.3 to 8.0 bracket) but Spearhead will actually be the update that kills Naval and will cause me not to give gaijin anymore GE period.
Really not looking forward to this, if you want players to be fairly rewarded why not fix the assist system? I can kill 90% crew and have a ship down to 10% buoyancy not even get the kill/assist because some random 5in shell kills poor timmy on deck.
Not sure how this will make it more fair, just seems to punish the folks that have crew management and DC down to a science. I get there is people that cheese it by just not repairing at all, but its easy enough to throw some HE at their hull and sink it or just black out other compartments of the ship and itll go down.
This ‘solution’ from what i understand form the post and a few videos I have seen this is designed to melt crew and force the pace of naval so battles are much shorter with quicker easier kills, which will really suck with the some times 10min wait just to get in a game with 4 people. It also feels like its meant to dumb naval down to an even more mindless skill less mode to either, appease the tank/air folk who only play naval for battle pass things. To attempt to make it more inviting for new players which they should keep it to arcade if thats the case. Or just because people would buy top tier premiums and get roasted because they dont understand the meta/mechanics.
Ill give the update an honest try but depending on how this rolls out in its final form to the live server this might be the end of my trip in naval from the CBT days.
Hope everyone has a solid day!
WT naval mode literally promotes suicidal behavior)
This is stupid as hell. “Thanks” for your crusade of never ending changes to ruin Naval Battles. Absolutely pathetic. No one asked for this. You never even tried to create an appropriate Naval Tutorial.
Are you guys even paying attention to how horribly this update is getting ratio’ed into oblivion?

Worst change ever, now the 1 mil games a month of naval people do compared to 100 mil of ground will drop even further. Revert this, noone wants it. You already tried to kill naval before with the hull break.
Why you don’t you folks try them out yourself first and see how quickly your crew depletes because of AA and secondary cannons keep getting shredded by mere HE rounds spam?
I don’t hate that auto repair idea, but you guys should let us have some crew control like some sort of compartment positioning. Like I don’t want my crew to be on AA cannons if I don’t need it since it barely have any use of it and its a crew sinkhole.
If you guys hate naval so much, then remove them since barely anyone plays them nor interested in it compare to airplanes and tanks. Atleast it will free up budget and times for other things…
At the very least, i want the addition of an option to disable repairs of aa and secondaries.
This option should of been added already but now it is really needed.
Maybe, at the very least, put this change into Naval Arcade only…?
Or start to listen to your customer???!!!
No AB don’t need it either
This is not a speculation cause we already tested it into the dev server.
I think, this is the first time a naval mechanics got so many voters.
Still increasing and still above 90%+
Then, also on this devblog players says that its horrible change …

Yeah.
I’m still pissed about being called an exploiter.
I don’t know if they are talking to or about me with all that. I try to keep things very simple when I play.
My basic SOP - a) acquire target, b) shoot said target until it is dead . . . rinse & repeat.
My ratio of “good games to bad” is best in planes, second in naval & last playing tanks . .
(I used to do ok at tanks, but that has diminished over time a good deal . . . lol)
When I play naval, I do the SOP and I look for a ship that is closer than most and has some crew loss on it already and I shoot at that until it is dead, then I find another . . and so on
I have an “A” on 6, 7 & 8 and my stuff repairs automatically I guess. I do this simply because it is “one less thing” for me to worry about. I concentrate on where I am shooting and looking out for torpedoes . . . this takes most of my time/focus.
I am not sure what other players are repairing/doing most of the time . … I am doing me & my stuff
I do not think I am exploiting anything, just doing the best I can, with what I have available to me,
as that is pretty much how I have always played every game I have ever engaged in.
I was not aware that NOT repairing your stuff would allow you to survive longer until now . . lol
. … seems like this should have been dealt with long ago if it was a problem/exploit(in the game design)
I am not sure this new “feature” will do any good or not(most seem to think not)
but I would much rather see a proper “Severe Damage” mechanic in naval(and not like in air where it was not really needed and is not very useful either) something to give more proper credit to the players and the damage they actually do, something like . . . .
If a player causes 50% or more damage to the ship/crew loss, when the ships sinks they get kill credit.
If a player gets 10% - 49% similar damage/crew loss, they get an Assist
Less than 10% . . . you get what you get . . . hit credits and that’s all.
(and remember, everyone gets hit credits for all this already anyway[paid for the work you do])
This seems fair, and would prevent Bots from taking kills with silly last shot kill credit
(and even players sneaking in when a ship is already almost dead and getting the same credits)
[and I admit I have done this myself, but mainly because it was the closest target, not really to steal kill]
Getting paid for the work you do has ALWAYS been the way things should be done . …
anywhere, for anything . . . . this is the way . . .
Changes like this will only make the game mechanics worse
i mean this practically always happens.
Maybe Snail wants to look at why…?
They had a moment of being good in response to the “feedback” that got us the Roadmap and then it just went back to being rats. But anyway, sidetrack over.
I don’t get why the Naval tutorial/induction could be a bit more detailed. It is, by nature of what it is and what you’re fighting, a way more complex mode (probably why playership is relatively low?) and it is a very steep climb. You can potentially be starting out at a low BR (Bluewater) and get absolutely hammered by a full uptier or a decent coastal boat.
Perhaps giving over more time in game (because let’s be real, most people will not look at the YouTube videos if they’re longer than 5 mins thanks to ads policy/attention spans) to ease people into naval might be an idea.
