The MICA EM should have its range fixed due to the addition of AIM-120C-5 in the game on multiple platforms

The MICA-EM is a very maneuverable missile, it has an overload of 50G versus 35G on the AIM-120C-5. The one that shoots me down most often in combat is the MICA. It is a very good missile.

importantly the mica actually hits its G overload, the 120A pretty much never hits 35Gs and we dont know how 120C will be on launch

I couldn’t agree more, while I’m fully aware that MICA with ~80km range would be quite overpowered considering how good acceleration of Rafale is, I do think it should get it’s range fixed with an addition of AIM-120C-5. With it’s current range it completely outmatches MICA

Here ya go mate

Oh my, I’m average. Sorry I didn’t make a smurf account and pad my stats

Pretty much just like Rafale now.

The EFT isn’t better because of its considerably worse radar and worse speed, and do you really think a heavy and not powerful plane like the Su-30 is good in BVR? (It isn’t, the Rafale could be better, because the Su-30 is just too slow)

Saying it’s all better is an exaggeration, but the US is by far the best tree for CAS at nearly every single BR. Some planes beat it (Yak-9K, F4U-7), but the US doesn’t have any bad CAS BRs.

It’s the best air tree in the entire game, and it is plagued by bad players at high BRs, and bad players/harder to use planes at lower BRs.

In my opinion the most important fix they have to make to the rafale is its top speed which is MACH 1.89 and not MACH 2.0. Having that fix would allready rebalance thing quite a bit.
PS : It is officialy stated by Dassault that the Rafale top speed is MAch 1.89.

iirc, it’s due to RAM Coating that makes Rafale only can reach to Mach 1.9. Because RAM Coating wasn’t modeled in War Thunder, it shouldn’t be a relevant factor making Rafale can’t reach Mach 2 just because of RAM Coating thing, UNLESS, Gaijin want to model Rafale Stealth FM which mean in one way or another, Rafale RCS was reduced “almost” like F-117 and it shouldn’t be detectable via NCTR.

The problem with Rafale is because EFT was severely underpowered (compared to Rafale only, in general sense IMO EFT still pretty competitive), it has worser radar than Gripen, slower supercruise (despite it’s a common sense that EFT will always beat Rafale in a straight line). Don’t blame the French Bug Reporter for making a super detailed report, blame Gaijin for not addressing the issue of EFT.

The game has reached its engine limitation making Rafale feels unrealistic, at least according to the Bug Reporter, but at least Rafale FM was pretty well documented, so it’s pretty much accurate for Rafale FM be like that unlike Gripen which by common sense itself that the aircraft engine can’t sustain that kind of turn, if you think Rafale FM wasn’t realistic, feel free to present another document that state otherwise.

@DirectSupport prediction are pretty good at Hornet’s Sting, he’s also asked for MICA-EM to be fixed once again in order to be competitive when R-77-1 was introduced (and at that time, tbh Rafale and EFT FM was pretty comparable), but we only got Rafale FM buff to compensate it (making Rafale FM far more superior than EFT in a straight line). But now because the AIM-120C-5 is coming, obviously there’s no reason to keep MICA-EM (and other missiles) gimped.

Usualy in this kind of situation the issue is on gaijin side.

Well wasn’t expecting that. Perhaps gaijin could try to work on that (they probably are but changing the game engine is surely quite hard and time consuming, so we may not see any improvment on that side for some time)

Misconception. The first 2-3 changes brought it on parity with available documentation. After that, it was changed to match a document selling a competitor that had incredibly questionable provenance regarding the information it was presenting. It has since been changed to be significantly below even that standard. It is well and truly underperforming even the least credible figures we have available. Has been for quite a while, but folk don’t want to hear that because it was incredibly potent when it was on parity with documentation.

The only notable exception to this parity was energy retention, and it is still an outlier. Instead of fixing it, they took a hatchet to the rest of it.

Gripen is a light fighter heavily focused on agility. It was on parity with its documented maneuverability, the issue was energy retention. Insisting that “It doesn’t make sense to me how it turns well so it’s impossible” is how gripen got into this mess.

Because I often see people blaming French Bug Reporter for being good at reporting, blaming the Bug Reporter wouldn’t fix the EFT being underperforming against Rafale really.

Yeah that’s the problem, and to add more for my argument, it’s already unrealistic for Typhoon can still accelerating with its Dual Sidewinder Rack, just you know that Dual Rack Missile greatly affecting aircraft drag, but in War Thunder it’s modelled in a very simplified manner, hell even Hornet can’t actually reach Mach 1 realistically if you bring the Dual Rack. You can also see that Mirage 2000-5 can still accelerate much further at deck while still carrying 8 total of missiles! That’s also unrealistic, but I don’t understand only Rafale that being highlighted for being unrealistic, most top tier aircraft already have unrealistic drag thanks to this simplified drag. I’m in for the buffing Eurofighter to make it competitive with Rafale because its radar already suffers enough compared to Rafale, and with the drag, it’s so unfair that Eurofighter that excels at straight line lose to Rafale.

I see, if so, hopefully there will be a revert for Gripen FM, I love to see Gripen to being a A6M Zero of the top tier.

Unfortunately, we have been told to go screw ourselves on that front. The state its in will be the state it is in until the next Gripen, assuming they even bother to fix it for the next one. Rafale’s so far the only one that really matches 90% of available documentation at present, and they’ve been far more accommodating towards it than they ever have been to Gripen.

Which is great in the case of Rafale, don’t get me wrong. Favourites are Gripen and Rafale, but it would be nice if there was some consistency.

Yeah, at this point, only God and Gaijin knows what to do with both EFT and Gripen FM, hopefully when Gripen E come, it would eventually get its FM fixed, maybe just like when the Su-33 comes, Flanker FM finally got it fixes albeit only get a half fix (iirc, Flanker should have more better energy retention, and Gaijin only implemented half of it).

if they fix mica range they should fix r77 and r77-1 range

Make a report/post then.

They should. But if you want to draw attention to it, is is best to create another thread specifically for it, with relevant bug reports.

Well devserver are good to reminding old bug that can be annoying especially when they are related in some way to the update so make a post about it.
