The MASS NERF to the BMPT'S and BMPT-72

Ok, so we all have had our fight and battles against the bmpts and still no matter where or how we shoot them or with whatever round we fire BMPT’S LAUGH IN OUR FACES AS THEY CONSIST A GOD MODE. No matter how much we shoot them, bomb them, rockets them, a bmpt never dies or take a UNREAL amount of shells and beating. Even when shot with APFSDS or HEATFS it doesnt pen or does very little. For a 10.3 tank in needs to nerfed so it really is a 10.3 or move it to the battle rating it actually belongs at.

There are aton of similar posts, and while yes it needs to be nerfed because its armor is a black hole alot of the issue is people not aiming. This is coming from both playing the bmpt and playing against it. I think alot of players see a vehicle that behaves like a light tank and just point and click instead of aiming for the ammo belts or the classic Soviet weak spots. I have had alot of shells non pen on the side and god armor that is russian ERA, but i have been able to relatively consistently deal with them, and also be dealt with. Bottom line is the need to fix something with the armor, maybe move it to 11.0, and it will be fine

I had good experiences shooting the lower frontal glacis rather than directly to the armor. It’s a underwhelming vehicle in some circumstances but not exactly broken in my perspective of view. APDS-FS to the chassis weakspots and or HEAT-FS (or even HE) to the combat module can easily disable or completely destroy the vehicle.

I agree it should be moved up but you can LFP this thing w/ APDS/APFSDS. I agree it has a lot of armour everywhere else though. The UFP is crazy strong, the sides are incredibly trolly and there is now a way to disable weapons by hitting the feed. It should still go up to 11.0 (maybe w/ darts).

Its 10.7. Should be 11.0.

the problem is that you often dont have time to aim properly. this bastard just starts going crazy on you and you see nothing but sparks in your scope. not only that, even if you manage to disable one, other 2 (or more) have got their buddy’s back and go nuts on you. This vehicle is way too numerous and should definitely be nerfed. or maybe just put to a 11.3. And the reason it’s numerous is its crazy effectiveness which is concerning, to say the least.

I’m normally not the one who shouts “RuSsIaN BiAs” thing but this time it’s completely justified

It is essentially the most protected vehicle in game between volumetric, the armour, the invincible turret, the definitely continuous ammo belt that has been selectively modelled as three seperate belts by gaijin so that you can’t ammo rack the 30mm despite all other vehicles such as the Marders and BTRs with similar ammo feed pathways having this mechanic. Definitely not a “wahhh Russian bias moment” this is a vehicle that is modelled with a clear intention of making it unrealistically difficult to kill, and in fact has been buffed by gaijin to make it harder to kill all while moving only from 10.3 to 10.7

This vehicle should either have the proper ammo system modelled as one continuous belt from turret to hull such that it can be overpressured by ammo belt detonations, or it should be moved to 11.3 or even 11.7 BR maybe with APFSDS if it really needs it. This does not belong below the KF41 or alongside the CRV Block 2

33rd thread. Pls use “BMPT/72 should not be 10.3”

The “classic soviet weakspots” have always been small, but most soviet MBTs (read, all of them except this one) don’t give you 0.3 seconds to pull it off before it takes out your tank’s gun or crew to prevent you from firing back and blinds you on your optics unless you fire in 3rd person. Don’t get me started on aiming for that tiny ammo belt.

I’m sorry but this is just gaslighting. let me explain it this way.

Go play M1 KVT with M774 or something with comparable shell or shells like the M833 or DM13 and DM23 on the 120mm guns.

While aiming will get you somewhere your ignoring a big factor and bringing skill into this imo is just pure ignorance. at 10.7 BR still many players exist who have premiums or are grinding TTs up so realistically expecting someone to aim for very specific angles or driver port shots from a new player experience is just hopium and to be frank shouldnt even be mentioned.

THEN if you have experienced players who know how to aim all of a sudden now have to deal with a T90M hull at 10.7 which no other tank has access to then again even skilled players will struggle if they have never experienced it before to know where to aim.

SKILL shouldnt be a factor when talking about balance, the fact remains its the ONLY 10.7 vehicle that has a top tier hull and arguably the best survivability out of any tank in the entire game and expecting players to all of a sudden “know where to shoot” its braindead logic.

Better yet ill use the TT BMPT, this has 5 crew so even with a well placed shot on the LFP, this doesnt kill the tank, nor does it have the proper spall post pen damage to reliable disable crucial parts of the tank so if you manage to get the 3 crew in the front well gg because its gun is still good to go and either kill you or disable you.

I also think if your going to bring skill into the equation then let me post this image for you:

I should also mention in terms of Kills per death, if you order all vehicles by that metric, the BMPT is #8, its currently the highest BR tank in terms of KPD ratio. the premium isnt far behind but ofc being premium the stats are lower due to new players.

I mean its the same as the Abrams from the front. You aim for the lower plate on the Russians, and the turret ring on the Americans. Ill play some more top tier USA and Germany tonight because maybe my sample size was too small (only played like 3 matches) but while definitely more punishing IF you mess up your initial shot it wasn’t terrible. Will report back if my stance changes lmao.

All i will say in response to this is by 10.7 unless you are a premium new player ( that’s a whole other issue) you should know how to aim. Im not saying be a god player but you should roughly know where to hit a t- (insert whatever) hull as its been about the same since 7.7

I thought it was a t-72 hull so my bad, but and i dont know this for certain it doesnt really matter whether its a t-72 or a t-90 (barring some really high pen munitions possibly) you still aim for the same spot. Experience+ using the KVT at 12.0 with my ClickBait. 105mm gun as opposed to 120, and i’m still aiming for the same spots.

As for the TT one. I didnt know it had 5 crew members as im still one tank away from researching it, but it sounds like it should be higher in BR which i have always thought anyway.
Now to reiterate. The armor is 1000% bugged. I am not at all denying this. I just think if they Truly fix it (Heavy emphases on Truly) and bump it to 11.0 it would be fine

easier said than done
ik you aint gonna say anything of good value because ur highest WR vehicle is the bmpt 72 and ur best performing vehicle

goes to show how people say “just aim weakspot” while never have to aim for weakspot and just W for the win

The average battle these days

https://youtube.com/shorts/aRy-szHiUtA?si=lD02wiyWYGEYhdFx

I mean yea ofc its my highest win rate lmao. Its top tier Russia. Its like a lock for a win, and a great SL grinding lineup
Also just checked… didn’t not realize the WR was THAT high lmao
And yea no I know (roughly) what im talking about lol. RB is only for high tier for me. Much prefer mid tier WW2 arcade.
Also holding W is for noobs. The real ones triple tap E lol

Again you cannot apply skill to something that ONLY 1 of a kind exists in this situation at this BR. your expecting players to know where to aim when literally there first experience of this hull and its survivability is the BMPT-72 and BMPT so no, you need to stop preaching about how they should know where to aim because unless they have played top tier that hull and its weakspots literally dont apply below 10.7. god help 9.7s tbh and I havent even touched on that mess that you conveniently dont want to mention when talking “skill”

I’m considered a fairly above average player by my stats and my experience in all nations but even at top tier with 600mm+ pen shells even I still struggle when aiming for these weakspots because said weakspots are NEVER 100% guaranteed so please stop preaching about skill when it really isnt the subject of the problem.

the ERA shouldnt even be anywhere below 11.7 in terms of minimum BR range to be frank, relikt with 200mm KE protection alone is ridiculously strong especially when most shells at 10.7 are about 380-420mm so when your aiming for these weakspots or angled shots hoping to get a cheeky shot in, well there goes a good 40% of your effective penetration and ability to maybe render it dead or disabled.

Sadly the armour isnt bugged, what we are experiencing is a result of 2 problems, over performing ERA and its ability to just negate ammo like nobodies business, sources already exist on relikts performance but refuse to fix it because fixing it means nerfing every MBT russian have at Rank 8 and we cannot have that.

The spall liner imo just needs to be gone, because spall liner + whatever the 2 internal fuel tanks are magically eat top tier shells side on are just bs but hey having Abrams internal fuel tanks eat ammo like this is bad so that doesnt happen.

The armour is intentional and so was the decision to add this 10.3 because “huh duh sales” but we have had this problem before with KA50 and Vikhrs ruining a mode for 4 years and made every other premium worthless at the time and the only reason BMPT is getting so much traction is, the fact it sits in the most populated BR range 9.7/11.7 where all the premiums exist and most new players exist.

Yeah, gotta admit those Leopards and abrams take those heats shells so good… (sarcasm)
But you know what you can do in that heat shell against terminators. Shoot on gun and after that they are endless repairsimulators

Abrams weakspots are ginormous. Russian weakspots are not.

For real… thats insane if thats the case… I just assumed it HAD to be a bug
