The M1 Abram should be updated with the M833 or M900

Except it’s the least picked in a tournament, still has an abysmal success rate in game and is on par in mobility with most of the tanks at that BR. Can you give a solid reason why it shouldn’t get M833, which is still WORSE than every other APFSDS round at that Battle Rating and has the same reload as multiple other 120mm gunned tanks?

Hello, (my personal opinion now, instead of a forum warning post), the M1 is fine as is, while it COULD receive M833, I still haven’t had issues with it personally, though I flank as best as I can, most of my kills being side on. If it gets M900 though, it’d probably leave 10.3-10.7 US without something more all around than the M60-2000 120S as it’d go up.

I agree with the M900 as it’s overkill at 10.7 (just added it because others have been arguing it on other forms of media). Been reading of a potential M744 nerf in the future due to the calculations so this was a preparatory push for it. Not to mention, M735 at that BR is abysmal for a 1st APFSDS. I’ve lost count on the number of times I’ve hit a T-72 from the side and it eats it at range

At range I have seen something similar with M735, and it kind of forces you to get up close and personal, but until M774 has a new performance calculation or such, I think the M1 will be fine. It just requires a different playstyle than most other MBTs. I admittedly also get a bit frustrated when an MBT shrugs off a round from my M1 though, its why I’ve just tried flanking despite the maps I get, which isn’t always an option though.

You also have to take into consideration that because it can’t see 9.3 how a largeer portion of vehicles that it faces are at its tier or above it so It got a somewhat soft Nerf in a roundabout way but everything that went to 10.7 did in that case

Fair. I constantly get max uptier (which RIP for me because there isn’t a 10.7 US lineup. Thankfully the Wolfpack and 120S are there to support). Though I’ve constantly gotten solo cap CQC maps lately so 9/10, you’re forced into these frontal engagements. Here’s hoping Gaijin adds more open maps to permit that.

I still think larger five cap maps should totally be a thing at high tier

That with a higher ticket count would be awesome. Maybe one day we can get some new version of game modes XD

I’m hoping for bigger more open maps, something like Fulda Gap, which I think is honestly the best map overall for top tier MBTs (most MBTs were designed with that area literally in mind iirc.) But something like Fulda allows for all tanks especially the M1 to shine.

😭I’ve maxed out my likes for my trust lvl :(

As much as people don’t like fulda at around 7.0 fulda is okay hi tier map

Agreed. I personally LOVE Fulda Gap but I know, sadly, a large portion of the community wants quick games :(

I didn’t even know that was a thing XD

It was a long time ago I don’t know if it still is my PC acct is 9 years old this month so ive seen a lot of changes in warthunder

Trying not to get too off topic, but yeah, some maps like Fulda Gap with multiple different elements of terrain, visibility, cap zones and such allow everyone to push their respective vehicle to the limit, especially the M1 in my personal use of it. However back on topic now, we’ll see if changes happen to the M774 round, until then the M1 sits somewhat comfortably. (Goodnight)

It has amazing mobility, great gun handling, really good reload, decent armor and survivability.

Compare it to a Leopard 2A4 and the only real advantage that thing has is penetration.

Seeing as you started with the stat posting. Your stats in it aren’t bad, but they hardly show anything exceptional.

Unless this isn’t your main account?

I agree, but that shows you how poorly most people are in the tank.

leopard2a4 would still have superior fire power with dm23 but it should have dm33
