The sight was produced by Israel’s ODF Optronics but it doesn’t appear as it would have any real benefits in War Thunder.
Well, after a bit of break from bug reporting Leclercs, expect to see many more very soon.
We’ll start with this though: Leclerc (All Variants) Incorrect Driver’s Sight NVD Generation
This should improve the resolution of the 3rd person NVD in night battles (not that anyone seems to play them).

So, in the new update that just dropped, I’ve noticed that the range finder of the Leclerc specifically got buffed. Now, the automatic ranging of the gun is instant the moment you press the rangefinder button. No other French vehicles has it from my testing. Is it a top tier only thing across different nations for people that have other top tiers ?

Edit: ZTZ99A as far as I am aware does not have that capability.
For now I see that :
Leclerc, Vextra, CV90105 have it
M1A1 AIM, Leopard 2PL, ZTZ99A don’t. I wonder what are the requirement to have it

IDK, ZTZ99A is still… WTF is with the JF17 engine, it has less thrust than Mig21? The official data is 8.4 ton, and all we get is 6.7?
It’s the same as any other laser rangefinder though; takes about 0.5 seconds on every MBT I’ve tested.
Not on the Leclerc, Vextra, CV90105. Those 3 instantly move the gun when pressing the range finding button

You can see in this video what I am talking about. The laser rangefinder takes some time to give you the distance, but the gun itself aims instantly

Sooo, I tried again, thinking it might have been a bug that was quickfixed. Still works on the S21 and AZUR. It does not on the S1 and S2 however. Vextra does work as well
Edit : My crews are level 150, one Aced one expert for testing. Tanks are spaded

Smoke Gallic tubes are a bit larger so they actually go outside the armor. They should however not be white
Had the same happen for me on other tanks. Might be an issue of the new custom sight maker, because it only happened with sights I made in there
