I think the issue is it wasn’t a project more of an option being marketed but never really went anywhere.
If that is the case, I think there is still witnesses and reports, at least internally at the company if not government.
Either way I’d love to know, but I also am fiendish for documents that prove things.
Your witness reports will be the photos and brochures.
Just for your information since you seem the type always eager to learn, I can readily say that is not always the case. That being “proof of cancelation” files being publicly available until many years, sometimes decades, after a project is gone and no longer applicable to a militaries current objectives/goals.
It is not uncommon for a test prototype or “mock-up” concept that never entered into production to just be discarded. Either just shoved into a earth covered magazine for permanent storage or in the US’s case it could go to EOD for a DET-blow where we detonate ground and air ordnance who’s service or shelf life is reaching expiration for training purposes.
On the other hand, procurement of a weapon system AND its future issuing to any armed forces is not hard to find when it happens, and it is generally available to the public. Not which squadron will be getting what, how many, or where, but the purchase of the weapon system itself generally is.
The utter and complete lack of photo or documental proof of it ever being in production, bought, issued, mounted, or used gives “KH-38MT does not exist” far more weight in this entire conversation then otherwise.
I appreciate your perspective.
In the case of Kh-38MT, I’ve enjoyed 1 or more air sim matches using them to deal with convoys.
I’ve used them in ground though not in random realistic battles on live server; I’ve had enough of using OP IR guided missiles and I feel like I have nothing else to learn from them, and I don’t get excited by frag feeds.
I hate to tolerate PVP as is.
Changing the seeker to be more realistic would probably get me to play them in ground RB matches on live server cause it’d be something new to learn; though the IR Hammer also has an IR seeker that’s supposed to act differently than it does in game, so I have no skin in Kh-38MT being removed or not except in one use case for air sim.
@UniqueScorpions @noister
i made a thread abt replacements a while back too
i forgot u guys can also get a TV guided and IR guided S-25
AGM balance: Discussion with intent to replace Kh-38 and similar weapons with balanced Munitions
Yeah you have a pretty reasonable take I can agree with.
I too find them pretty boring to use as an “I win” button/ordnance, I’ve been sticking to 10.3 to just not deal with it.
If Gaijin is stubborn about removing the KH-38MT then changing the seeker is probably what they hopefully do, possibly a reduction is its sheer speed as well. It often only gives ground players 5 seconds or less to react after spawn launching them before impact right now.

My mistake, I didnt realize the JAGM-F wasnt using a seeker similar to the SDB II and were instead using only MMW/SAL, effectively making them just very bad brimstones
There is JAGM-MR which has an IR seeker within its tri seeker but that’s only in testing right now but hey if they can add KH38mts that don’t exist I don’t see a problem with adding JAGM-MRs.
Everyone’s weapons data is controlled and restricted.
There are many “weapons” and systems countries could build if they wanted to but didn’t for various reasons. Your logic means pretty much everything that could be built could be added to the game which is ridiculous.
By your logic, there is no impediment to implementing the challenger 2 with brimstone integrated. Hell, we could even get a pykrete aircraft carrier.
Ultimately, gaijins own rules mean it should be removed as it’s a weapon that has zero evidence of ever being built or mounted onto an aircraft, never mind fired.
Whether gaijin will actually follow their own rules is another matter of course.
It also raises questions of how this weapon was allowed to be added in the first place. Either gaijin have their own “secret sources” which raises eyebrows to put it mildly or they just… made it up which is just as problematic.
It’s complicated when it comes to ru production/planning
You mean you support an invasion war??
How did you jump to that conclusion lmao
I mean just look at the nickname.
This thread gives certain people too much hope cope.
That’s obviously not what he meant.
His statement is that Russia is not hiding ANY of the weapons they use, in fact doing the opposite, and if the KH-38MT existed and was in use there would be photos of it.
The mods have already said repeatedly that they can be DM’d with the photos so they can see the proof and it would not violate the forums/Gaijins rules.
Of which none of the people claiming they have “photo proof” have done so. Just made baseless claims.
Practically all Electro Optical Seekers are significantly overperforming since they Borrowed the stat line of the -65D.
Wouldn’t be the first time they just made stuff up. They do it all the time for japan, even setting aside the R2Y2. Their F-16AJ is nothing at all like the real proposal, and it seems they didn’t even know the AAM-4 wasn’t just a fat amraam until after they announced it for the game, considering in the dev streams they called it a Japanese produced amraam variant. Which is, honestly an appalling lack of research.
