The Kh-38MT may not actually exist

I know, my whole point is that gaijin doesn’t want to add MMW radar for now so it’s out of the question

they simply cant afford them

It’s tracking could be nerfed as well as the brochure suggests a use case closer to the hammer than mavericks

oh no forum mod typing

Sure, but remember PARS or Magic 2 when first added?
They came in an Nerfed state, hekl PARS didnt even was an Fire and Forget it was just an Laser ATGM like Hellfire,
So why csnt they do such an thing for the Brimstone?
Like, SAL mode as currently, with the Option of Pointing an area and at range xy (3km) (no Laser support) as example it will turn into an Fire and Forget like the Pinguin or HAMMER

any proof of that? they have been producing their won thermals for quite a while now

If they can throw 3rd gen thermals onto these missiles so easily why are they not throwing them onto their tanks?

After asking dataminers, no. Technically everything comes from the PARS, so I guess you could say both of them are a “copy” of it. Tank lock range, fov, full flare rejection are the same

seeing as thales cut them off their supply and that Russia isnt putting them into their tanks which is a FAR more valuable place to put a higher definition thermal camera its a very safe assumption that they arent plugging them into their single use missiles.

Russia hasn’t got the industrial capacity for such a large scale and disposable adoption

As far as i know the MT hasn’t been sighted yet, tho i’d hold from hasty conclusions as some russian weapons i thought were not real turned out to be ( R-27EP especially )

Russia has put their domestic thermals in their tanks for quite a while, even in the modernized T-62’s where they have 2nd gen uncooled domestic thermals while iirc better ones go for more important tanks

i dont think sa

yeah Made in china …

This weapon needs to be removed for the sake of balance, nothing comes close to it in terms of raw performance, Kh-38ML is already good enough for CAS and Russia still has access to Kh-29T.

a forum mod just said it’s the same and technically copied from the pars but they are the same

Kh-29T!? for god’s sake why would you even use that at all??

Russian planes have a very decent FnF capability in Kh29.

in your opinion*

No it wouldnt and if it hasnt been put on the plane and exists solely as a mockup then it shouldnt be in the game, regardless of balancing. Same applies to NATO vehicles and weaponry

Su25SM3 has not only built in optical sight but it comes also with thermals. Su30SM has the TGP that is required to fire them off and as for Su34, while it doesnt have thermal sights in the built in optics it does have a very good zoom.

God knows what poccessed them to add it in teh first place. Especially given the fact no one else had and still has anything even close to the Pantsir.

no they dont most of their tank thermal are import and same with planes thermal
their domestic version isnt very good and they can probably get the import for the same price as domestic anyway

As I have said twice maybe thrice before in this post. Weather the missile is real or not doesn’t matter to me. Personally I don’t think Russia or any foreign exports of the KH-38MT made, sold, or mounted to an air frame. But I do believe that they could possibly make an IR guided KH-38m. But that doesn’t matter for the concerns I have. The major issue I have is the fact these missiles have the seeker performance of a TGP while being disposable munitions. It just isn’t believable especially from a nation who just recently got into making domestic thermals.
