what would be fair is that 12x 2nd gen zoom with higher drag coefficient and remove IOG
it would still be better than any other IR agm but now more balance(would still be busted probably, but better than nothing)
also i doubt they would limit it to su-34 only, as there isnt any proof of su-30sm fielding kh-38 either, only kh-29 ive seen so far
they wont say that though, they will just give a very high price and say delivery in 3-4 years betting that they will be able to finish it in that timeframe and charge enough to open an assembly line

i mean that doesnt disqualified it from having guns, kikka is basically me262 but licensed with minor changes, and base on how most planes ended up it would make sense to have gun, more or less. The operational design definitely included provisions for armament, especially to function as an interceptor properly and there was no air to air missiles
same with things like cf-105, envision to have guns on production but never fitted cuz it was cut

tbf i would go find it but say this, you use common sense, you dont design an aircraft with absolutely 0 arnaments, especially an interceptor in WW2, and its japan, it flown once, japan surrendered, oof the plane. The purpose of it was to strike B29, i dont think you would design an early jet to banzai into the bomber

yak 141 did fly and did have gun installed, however weapon capability was never tested, but given Gaizin do things, id let it pass, since how would u balance things like that and most prototype vehicle usually land in a difficult spot between not added and not balanced properly

Im relatively easy with stuff being added and removed however the kikka falls into the bracket of stuff like tiger 2 10.5cm , it was intended but never functionally created.

To be fair to him the most compelling point anyone has made for its non existence was Mythic speculating the EN rosboronexport website was out of date, which is now clearly not the case since we have brochures from Zhuhai 2024 stating otherwise.
Kh-38M is a program for a family of modular missiles if the IR seeker was cancelled indefinitely there would be a cancellation order and memos about reassigning the team working on the IR seeker at KVRT to other projects. Those are your silver bullets go find them.
As for your kikka take, For the sake of argument we say the 38MT seeker was never mounted like kikkas guns, the warhead and rocket body exist and have been used successfully in tests and combat so by your logic like the kikka its fine for addition.
