It doesn’t mean there are two variants
It only means it doesn’t strictly need the GNSS guidance (I.e. in a GNSS-denied or spoofed environment it can still work by disabling the GNSS guidance)
GNSS is provided by the “base module”

That’s just mental gymnastics
How are people still arguing this matter, it’s been already proved that the missile doesn’t exist at all by @MythicPi
More like experience
Just look at my screenshot
What do you see in the subtitle/voice over?
“Compartment with an inertial satellite control system”
Now what do you see in the graphics?
“INS + Equipment compartment”
Where’s the mention of GNSS?
Why the subtitle/voice over says “Inertial + Satellite” but the graphic only shows “INS” with no mention of GNSS?
Because as I explained in my report, that’s what they mean by “INS” here.
They just make no mention of it because it’s not very necessary to mention it …
???
So you don’t trust Gunjob
Edit nvm I didn’t see you replied to another guy
It would be better tho if you quote the initial post from gunjob
Read what I sent above, new Kh-38 yes, ok, probably has GNSS in main part, for old Kh-38, GNSS was part of Kh-38MK seeker
Do we have the old one in game or the new one?
Because if the answer is the new one, you are making a pointless argument
By performance it’s old, by visual model ML seems to be old, MT to be new. @sudo_su1 is arguing about all of that cos he thinks 70km range missile has less warhead tho both brochures for 40km and 70km say “up to 250kg” (which is standard phrase for all missiles since there can be slight disperency due to normal manufacturing inaccuracies).
This thread is about the MT so…
And there will not be 2 separate production lines for the booster so if one has it all have it
This doesn’t mean a variant without SAT doesn’t exist. If that’s the case, they didn’t mention anything about an IR seeker. Therefore with your logic, it doesn’t exist.
On the right it says “Active satellite navigation” and on the left it says “Active homing device”
So it’s possible that the MKE version is more than just a simple passive GNSS guidance
I.e. it either has better GNSS receivers in the seeker section, or some sort of active two-way communication.
Or it’s just poor wording and presentation in the older brochure …
It’s just poor wording. “Active satellite navigation” is like in fact = active homing device, since it’s active, it’s device and used for homing
with his logic it exists, they just didnt deem it neccessary to mention it
Its also make sense on Winged missile. Because the seeker not need to rotate that much Its just follow the fly path locking down.
Yea i wasn’t to date with the thread. Funny how some people still copium about it not being real. The only argument these people have its that “Muh Russian can’t produce IR seeker”. While thing like LMUR has being use a lot in the last years. IMO Kh-38MTE main target are SHIPS. That they haven’t see combat.
Because no one has provided any actual evidence of this missile other than a brochure and a mockup.
The video is titled “Kh-38MLE” so it makes sense for them to not mention the IR seeker …
But just look at the subtitle / voice-over and then at the graphic
Graphic says “INS”
Subtitle / voice-over says “Inertial satellite”
I.e. by INS they mean INS + GNSS
They just sometimes omit explicitly mentioning it because there’s little point in mentioning it
Its not the main guidance method in these variants and it’s only used to correct for INS drift …
It’s kinda like a $2M luxury car making mention of having seat belts …
we literally have a picture of it being mounted to a plane
Still doesn’t change the fact that its gamebreaking and should’ve been removed from the game months ago (here we can see how Gaijin favors Russia so much), but now we can wait untill we see the new SPAAs and how they’re going to perform against it.
