Plugging in the maximum values of both brochures, at no point does the graph even come close to averaging out to 400m/s even over 70km
there is also the posibilty that a dev will respond to say us the 40km are an engine limitation
it time outs at 40km
Dont hammers go up to like 60km?
why is your start speed 1620 thats 20km/h over whats stated in the brochure
why do you have an launch angle of 50°?
also dont forget that the drag will drastically increase the lower it gets in altitude
I doubt they’re increasing the maximum in game range anytime soon. Our missiles have like 13km target lock range so 40km launches should be pretty rare to begin with.
450m/s = 1620
Target locating angle is 50
(could be 60, it’s kinda blurry)
40km launch, 12km alt. It’s not 70km! Because the game limited the Kh-38 missile to 40km ground lock, and also the battery reserve to 90s.
40 km launch, 12 km altitude = average speed ~2000 km/h = ~555 m/s.
All average speed tests are useless because we cannot launch this Kh-38 missile to the stated 70km maximum range for an average speed of 300-400m/s.
that is the seeker limit tho not a loft angle
the missile lofts itself ingame
You forgot the " in the horizontal plane"
should be atleast 200s
at the movement of missile launch, honestly it’s oddly described
I know older sources don’t mention the satellite guidance for the ML and MT
But as I’ve explained in my report, it probably was just not mentioned due to not being very important
I.e. GNSS guidance costs very little and there’s no reason to omit it (it probably costs you money to omit it only on some variants)
It’s explicitly mentioned for the MK because for this variant it’s the main guidance method
For other variants it’s not mentioned as it’s only to correct for the INS drift and it’s not the main guidance method …
yeah, they are just telling that the maximun lock angle at launch is ±50º, iirc in game the missile have a ±55º
Well, I’ll leave you guys to it, you guys are smarter than me when it comes to this stuff. I’m just glad I picked up on the average missile speed being an issue
it is possible that it isnt, when looking at the newer brochure
They don’t mention GNSS because there is lack of it, that’s all. At that point you can call every missile existing that they have GNSS because “it’s cheap”. Jam resistant with multiple modules GNSS isn’t “extremely cheap”. Also older Kh-38M have long wings, new has short wings.
What is your source for the cost of GNSS guidance? Cost of the missile with and without it?
