At least Brims have heat warheads, which get no guaranteed kills. Unlike Kh-38MT, with its large yield HE warhead. They’re like a 500lb bomb with guaranteed kill radius and 100m splash damagte. Also Brims have no IOG, smoke and your’e fine.
At the end 18 Brims would never be as powerful as 6 KH-38MT, which are basically cruise missiles.
Not in an extent that it matters ingame. THey need precise hits on target to work and IOG is not precise enough. Unlike KH-38MT IOG, which still ensures the target gets taken out. Brim IOG won’t work, just check it out. Switch off the laser and see it fail.
this still doesn’t change the largest issue the brimstone would have that is its tiny lock range (around 5km from what I have heard so worse then TV guided weapons) so most shots will be point locks and with its abysmal speed you just have to hope you aimed well or the target didnt move
no matter how you frame it 6 MTs will always be more OP then 6 FnF brimstone 2s
They use Hellfire logic, so if at any point you enable laser, the missile will disable IOG forever. If you fire with laser off and turn it on in terminal it works fine.
the issue is IOG is helpful to maintain the lock if it is broken for a couple of seconds, on a missile where it just turns off the moment the laser is turned on makes it useless outside of trying to do one specific strategy
Place POI
Fire missiles
do something else, like hide behind terrain
Pop up a few s before they are to impact
turn on IOG
Congrats, you got kills before enemy SPAA can engage you.
assuming they dont shoot the missile down, move, you dont get engaged by CAP and it one shots yeah you can get a kill like that, seems like a whole lot more work then point and click everyone else gets
Claiming the KH-29TD is equivalent to the 65B is pathetic. Keep crying. It’s still a better standoff weapon than any Maverick due to its greater acceleration and warhead. Bitch and moan about it’s worse track range all you want, it’s irrelevant when the only time you need to fire from that far is against SPAA which 1.) are static targets and 2.) it will accelerate far faster than any other missile and begin tracking once it’s within that range.
A bunch of built-in targeting systems because they lack the capability to build a dedicated, not dogwater TGP.
