I don’t think nationallity matters, if this missile was American, French or Swedish and it turned out to be fake people would still complain until the forums burst.

There is a difference between manufacturing high quality lenses for optics and manufacturing high quality digital sensors for optics.
Would a really nice set of lenses help a thermal imager? Yeah, sure. But it’s still a thermal imager even without really nice lenses.
Plus, France also has fairly nice lens manufacturers. The scopes for their modern sniper rifles are known to be of high quality.

Its a hyper specialized industry thats already oversaturated. The germans do make some fantastic thermal sights for tanks tho, like the ATTICA.

AFAIK the ARH seeker is for anti-ship role (It’s not the mmW anti-tank type)
TBH wouldn’t mind it for Air SB … (Assuming it exists and used by the planes we have)
