The Kh-38MT may not actually exist

Hello, you have to be the new one, because thats just an normal day in the WT forum, specially in this thread :))))))

I’ve been perusing through Telegram channels to find any mentions of the Kh-38MT. So far there are no mentions of it, only ML being used against static targets.

Russia has been open about the weapon systems its been deploying. The fact that they haven’t deployed Kh-38MT in any capacity in almost 3 years since the conflict started is just more proof that it never made it past the proposal stage.

I don’t want to derail the topic but since we’re talking about hammer and 38MT not being able to track moving target, how does older design of the kh29 can track moving target with IR guidance with a similar flight path (lofting)?

nearly 3000 messages, still no proof

its almost like it doesnt exist…

Its unclear what the 38MT can and cant engage target-wise considering we cant even conclusively prove the thing exists in the first place.

As for the AASM, its not 100% garanteed it cant hit moving targets, but the belief of this is rooted in how the seeker works, as has been discussed in the appropriate threads, but short-form, basically it doesnt “track” a target, it “finds” the target in a predesignated area and updates its guidance coordinates twice. Sorta like its trying to hit a target using pictures instead of a video feed.

As for the Kh-29’s, idk much about them, so I cant really comment there sorry.

Just because you don’t see something doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. The Kh-38 platform itself has been around for over 10 years

I have to say it’s funny how disingenuous you are sometimes. Several sources have been shown to you. Gunjob even shared you an excerpt showing that the French claim that even if difficult they managed to target threats going under 50kph in the German discord, and yet here you are again lol

To begin with, the Su-25SM3 cannot use the kh-38 at all, but Gaijin simply ignored it.

The Kh-38ML and MT use the same AKU-58 pylon.

If you bothered reading what gunjob said, he’s not sure if the actual source is talking about AASM IR or AASM laser, since tge french players have a nasty habit of croping the source to lie, and the excerpt said “it is really very hard to shoot a mobile target”, which isnt exactly glowing praise regarding the capability. If you wanna argue about it tho, take it to the appropriate thread instead of derailing this one just to be petty

Tell me when it stopped the Gaijin if the weapon or plane wasn’t fully functional. The Yak-141 is an example of this

Right, so you finally admit the Kh-38MT likely isnt a real or fully functional? Cool, thanks man :)

Only for the russians

That’s kind of logic that would make this game much more fun for everyone. For everyone except soviets.

Kh-38MT and Su-30SM have nothing to do with Yak-141, Ho-229, and Kikka.

I didn’t say that.

E-100, P2, Ho-229 and etc

So from what I understand, kh38mt has a mockup, the seeker is presumably real. But no evidence of it being used?

Yes you’re right
