likely capacitors/ resistors of some sort
Guys.
A mockup at an exhibition is not evidence of actual existence or production of a munition.
There so far has been nothing posted in this thread proving that the KH-38mt exists.
Or was even even put into production.
Maybe? I never really saw anyone use them much and it seemed that it wasnt until KH-38 that soviet CAS became so dominant, though that might be a matter of launch platforms rather than missile performance
Then the thing you pointed to before wasn’t the seeker and that is why so many were against you.
What you pointed to before were these two brass things:
But this picture is MUCH better:
Here you can actually see the lens at the bottom.
So in all honesty everyone so far has been wrong (or at the very least pointed to the wrong things).
Thats not the imager lol, thats the servo lmao
Different angle view:
that was my point
Obviously a blog i not a reliable source but can’t find the original article so just putting that there
As Piotr Butowski and Antony Angrand write in the article " New configuration for the Kh-38M ", published in the magazine " Air&Cosmos ", at the Moscow Aviation and Space Salon JSC “Tactical Missiles Corporation” presented a new modification of the Kh-38ME air-to-surface missile. Compared to previously demonstrated samples, the tail, lifting surfaces and homing head were changed. In the previous modification, the tail and lifting surfaces could be folded, which allowed the missile to be placed in the internal weapons bay of the fighter. The new version has non-folding surfaces, but the missile can be suspended in the internal bay. The span of the lifting surfaces was also reduced, as well as their chord. A company representative declined to comment on the changes in the appearance of the missile. However, it is very likely that there were some problems with the release of the missile from the internal bay at high speed.
The Kh-38M missile (M stands for “modular”) is a new-generation universal air-to-surface missile designed to replace the popular Kh-25M and Kh-29 missiles. The first Kh-38M launches (without a seeker) were carried out in 2010 from a Su-34 bomber. In 2015, the missile was declared ready for serial production, which was to begin at the KTRV plant in Korolev in 2016. KTRV General Director Boris Obnosov announced at MAKS-2017 that the first version of the Kh-38ML semi-active laser seeker missile is already in production, and the next modification with an IR seeker, the Kh-38MT, should complete testing this year. There are two more modifications of the missile - the Kh-38MA with a radar seeker and the Kh-38MK with a cluster warhead.
So as of 2017 the IR seeker was still in testing
And the laser seeker tests were in 2014 which as stated above entered production in 2017
I was pointing to a round copper thing that’s taller
Sure, but at least now we know it’s a mockup of a MT and not another variant :D
Thankfully together we all worked towards getting this sorted out. :)
That is clearly a lens at the bottom, the laser version has a reflector and there is no TV version, so at the very least there was one prototype seeker produced.
They still should’ve implemented a variant that we’re sure exists in service
No?
The “arrow” to the IR you drew points to the right copper tube that i circled in green in the image above.
What is Gaijins minimum requirements for a weapon to be implemented?
All the parts just existing?
All the parts existing on a single actually functional weapon example? (i.e the rest of the missile in that photo of the seeker might be a mockup)
A fully functional weapon mounted onto an aircraft?
A fully functional weapon actually test fired?
btw how did you get a clearer version of the same pic
And you’re talking about the IR, I was thinking about the gyroscope.
Atleast something of substance produced seems to be the requirement, see SRAAM.
Yep, closest example I can think of in game too
Windows built in “designer” editor , play around with these settings:
See what makes things clearer and what makes them worse.
The seeker isnt fixed
