do you have evidence of this to quell this disagreement?
usually, mockups do not have real systems inside.
seeker looks more than a mockup to me
oh lemme show you something
Unless I’m blind, I did not find anything like that. Feel free to send it in PM’s
If you mean this, which was posted already on the thread (as already pointed out by Devil09), it’s most likely a laser guided one
):<
apples to oranges
my point is, it may look real, but mockup missiles do not carry real equipment.
that seeker is far from a mockup.
yes it may not have a booster or a warhead, but surely a seeker
again, why take a seeker, which may be contemporary/classified and put it in a mockup missile which is made of plastics and non military-grade metals?
its also much cheaper to have a mockup on display instead of a real prototype
especaly if the system is still undergoing testing and there isnt a surplus
its much simpler to just get a mockup made close to the expo and it doesnt limit ongoing development
i dont think that they are doing a 1:1 replica of a seeker with a glas lense tho
and there is a few more things that wouldnt be neccessary for a mockup:
- the wiring
- the gyroscope
- the pcb + components mouted to it
- the markings on the ball baring to indicate its direction
so either they had a guy waste 69420 hours of his life to make a 1:1 replica or mote likely it is a real seeker
i would rather take a seeker from kh29 and somehow fit it in kh38 if it were a mockup rather than making a nearly fully workable seeker. however in this case it doesnt seem it is a kh29 seeker.
4 photos of mock-ups, and then 4 photos that have been peer-reviewed as the unrelated ML model, with maybe 3 photos of the supposed IR seeker head which was likely a one-off prototype or something along those lines.
I’m going to do my best to not argue, i’m just gonna reference what i’ve already seen in this thread.
way too less, wheres designing time lmao
the sheer risk of damaging the real multi thousand dollar seeker (which may be in short supply) casts that option out the window. they made replicas via CAD CAM machining
would be good enough for WT then
case closed
true,
corrected it
how come you assume it is operational?
it merely looks like it has servos and hinges. probably empty inside
