only 70? thats concerning
Due to the limitations of other fixed plate AESA in-game, ±70° is quite standard. KF-21 doesn’t integrate a swashplate.
This aged a bit
I’d say that in lack of K-band detection or MAWS, KF-21s should be fine. Even in the current GRB environment of multiple Pantsirs and ADATS, planes lacking both of these systems still perform CAS fine. It would require more care to use for sure. And it seems to be only lock on that’s undetectable, so the pings on RWR should still be present, iirc.
I was reffering to most modern AA not having k band, well now theres pantsir sm lmao
Heh, you are correct ofc. Modern SPAA should more or less be fine to deal with. Just the IIRs you would have to take care.
With what’s essentially confirmation through Yonhap, a deal signing for Indonesia’s KF-21s is expected at the end of the month during a state visit to South Korea. Congrats on a first overseas sale!
As an addendum to this previous news, Yonhap had unfortunately made an error and no immediate confirmation on KF-21s for Indonesia has been set. Though I don’t doubt the eventuality. The recent news however was premature and mistakenly reported, as clarified by KAI themselves.
Response to Media Reports (English translation)
As of today, the first KF-21 production unit will be rolled out.

The First Production Unit has officially been rolled out.
Some photos from the ceremony (Higher-Res ones should arrive soon):

Production Units 002 and 005 spotted during Inspection tour this morning. With the ramp-up of units, the current expected export potential at the moment includes Indonesia, Peru, Poland, Philipines, and UAE. What a great list!
Has there been changes in the production?
There doesn’t appear to be any changes compared to the final prototype units (005 and 006). The first batch may all be twin seaters due to training purposes though.
I want to see this in-game so badly, the question is where will it end up. I know there was that leak talking about a possible United Korean TT so this could absolutely be a selling point to grind to top tier. Having both a 4.5++ gen and 5th gen version of the KF-21 will definitely be interesting BR wise.
I definitely agree! FA-50s and KF-21s would be the perfect planes to center as selling points of a United Korea tree.
Current Annual Production Capacity as revealed during the Inspection Tour suggests 40 FA-50s and 20 KF-21s a year.
Spoiler

nice, sadly with a United Korean tree it’s going to be similar to the Chinese/Taiwan lines so we’re going to have to get through a lot of already existing vehicles to get into rank 5 or 6 where the unique modifications start appearing. I’m gonna try and see what aircraft/tanks can be added and what else to look forward to
The KF-21 can carry up to 8x Meteor? The chart says it can carry up to 8x AMRAAM, but Meteor is heavier, 4x Meteor looks kinda anemic
Also wonder how many it will be able to carry in the internal bay in the future variants, someone knows smt about this?
The chart added specifically says this is from earlier in development. C103 is not a KF-21. No KF-21 cannot carry 8 Meteors. At the moment it can only carry 6 Meteors and 2 IRIS-T or 4 Meteors and 4 IRIS-T. The Block III/EX with IWB supposedly will carry 2 extra missiles as LAD GUI demos suggest more than 6 in this configuration. Armament charts have only recently been confirmed. Look forward to the thread being updated with their inclusion!
Production Unit 015 was apparently spotted during the Inspection tour.
