Where to begin?

Pre leviathans it was a funny meme ship; slow, average firerate, extremely well armored… Against HE. Because its top speed was abysmal, it took forever and a day to get to a cap point. If it wasn’t mauled on sight first by SAP or AP.

Then leviathans dropped and they did this anomalous little ship so dirty. While before, it had a curious gimmick of being highly resistant to HE spamming DDs, now it just dies. The cause is likely from the shell arc changes introduced in Leviathans and to a lesser extent the aiming system changes in arcade because of the update.

The K2 now sits as probably the single worst 4.x ship in the game at the moment for bluewater.

Yes; I understand it’s not a destroyer. It’s a norwegian [sloop]. While I don’t expect it to get the once upon a time PT boat spawn it once had (although I have zero sympathy for PT boat players), I at least think the ship needs [something]. Or be replaced with a different ship entirely.

So let’s add some more relevant stuff, like its operational history… Which there isn’t much - if any.

Construction for K2 specifically started in 1939 and she was still under construction when Germany invaded. In 1941 she was launched and then commissioned in 1942 after damage delayed her going into service.

She was damaged by a torpedo in 1944 and was sunk on accident mid tow in 1945 and scrapped at a later date.

As proven in discussion in the thread, armor was not changed and I admit fault for that mistake. As such, the above post has been edited to reflect this.

It’s a “costal” ship in bluewater tree, with broken compartments mechanic, cause it only have 4.

HE change was way before Leviafans.

Leviathans is what killed the ship, not HE changes.

Pre leviathans it had an absolutely silly upwards of 60+mm of armor on most plates which made it nearly impossible to kill with HE if you weren’t aiming turrets and bridge constantly.

Now that armor is below waterline where it’s largely worthless.

What are you talking about? It still have a good armor.

That’s the ammo elevator. The only above water armored section.

Look at the rest of the hull. It’s missing armor that once existed.

The armor was definitely different pre-leviathans. Not [six years] ago, about 8 [months] ago.

Then I stand corrected; been a hot minute since I last looked at the K2’s armor. (Which I just did in protected analysis)

However, its survivability definitely took a nose dive with Leviathans and watching it get slaughtered so often led me to believe the armor was hit.

It is likely the shell arc change in Leviathans also led me to believe the armor was nerfed/changed. Regardless, I admit fault.
