Yeah, nothing wrong with BRITAIN getting the first jaguar with MAGIC 2s.
Nothing to see here, folks.
Utterly delusional. Give us better French jaguars if you’re going to give Britain a Jag with magic 2s. A jag with magic 2s that doesn’t sacrifice a pylon like France will. Don’t think that’s remotely fair.
The first lot of Jags india acquired, which this is, were exported directly from Britain by BAE and those that were built.in India were to RAF specs.
This is quite literally a Jaguar Gr1B
I actually genuinely think we will see a round of new CAS though in June with the split BRs for air and ground. So fingers crossed Magic 2 Jag for France and 9L Jag GR3A for Britain
I’m not opposed to Britain getting it, I play Britain. What I am opposed to is a jag with French missiles that the current Jag should carry going to the Brits.
Honestly, just want better jaguars. But feel this is a bit of a cheap way to go about it, given the whole French missile going to the pommies. If we had the French jag with these missiles, fair enough. But as it stands, seems a bit backwards.
So then then what? The Super Mystere, F-86K, F-100D, F-8E(FN), Milan, Mirage IIIC/E/5F, and Etendard should go to America because they all use the sidewinder?
It’s just a coincidence. India use quite a few British vehicles but they also use quite a bit of french stuff too, and Britain uses mostly US missiles, at least initially and India didn’t…they did later replace the Magic 2s with ASRAAM I believe.
Like I said, I reckon we’ll see a round of “late” Jags for Britain and France, with notably different BRs in air and ground. I actually think this is going to test the waters for that system.
I would much much prefer the Jaguar Gr3A over this any day of the week
Main issue is just the whole French missiles going to Britain (Which I don’t particularly think is fair) before France gets essentially the same airframe with their missiles. Which is a pretty similar (Different, yea, but similar) situation to the Gripen, yeah it is kinda reasonable but a pretty shit look. It isn’t really so much that they’re giving it to the Pommies, more they’re giving it to the Pommies before we get it in the French tree.
Just don’t want it to end up in another EBR situation. “You got your EBR, look” becoming “You got your jag, look”. Unlikely, but uncomfortable. Seems to happen a lot with events and anything tangentially related to France.
You didn’t strike me as particularly sharp, glad you made it obvious.
It’s an event vehicle. They do often get used to test airframes and weapon systems.
Tornado MFG with ASM
Su-25BM with R73
This is just a Jag with all-aspect missiles.
Maybe in June we will see the Jaguar Gr1A and the Jaguar A get AAM upgrades but only move in air, but they needed to test how the Jag will perform with all aspect missiles.
That thing (XF-85 Goblin) is a parasite fighter, and was originally intended to be launched in-flight from a mothership, like a naval fighter would from an aircraft carrier. Despite its unwieldy appearance (and likely similar performance) it would be wholly unsuitable for the game as-is. (It does not even have landing gear, and I do not think the prototypes were armed.)
TBH I’m just glad the UK is getting something high tier as a reward for once. when was the last time that happened?, I mean could it be better? sure but it’s better than seeing another “Muh sekrit protytrhype that goes 500 bajilion football fields per moon landing, or super sekrit glorius soviet engineering kumrade goes 9999999 vodkabottles per gulag”
5 sec reload (autoloader), good to great mobility, thermals, and a choice of either a crud ton of smoke or resistance to 30mm ap (I think also to 30mm apds). The xm8 a good tank for 9.7.
