J35X is a terrible plane, but it definitely needs to stay at 10.0-10.7, so it is correctly BR.
Damn forum wasn’t letting me reply because I had to wait 6 hours for being a newcomer, lol.
Seems like all mysteries are being solved, also I brought some chaff in the battlefield and apparently that’s what was missing, I get way less killed when I’m high in the sky now.
Giving that plane a decent machine gun wouldn’t be overkill though, in my opinion.
Ah, that explains that then
I still maintain my hatred for that… thing, but I’m glad you figured it out. I hope it serves you far better than that thing served me.
I watched some tutorial about how to use it, if you keep it to the zoom boom zoom tactic you can get some kills, nothing spectacular but a steady grind.
Though it tends to become very boring with time because every single game looks the same.
If you drift from that tactic it becomes very erratics and harder to get some kills, so it’s better to get some ground howitzers as it is almost the only thing you can kill with your machine gun.
Not fun, not much, but still helps to give a steady grind.
Any dogfight will be harder because of the speed bleed and the slow accel, and real bad machine gun.
I mean, some planes sometimes go right through your salvo without being even hit.
It doesn’t happen when I use the MIG21Bis or the JA37C.
I’m going to be honest, the MiG 21bis is the only thing that kept me going with Sweden. I am honestly glad I got done with Sweden when I did, because I honestly do not think I could actually grind Sweden with how terrible it seems now, especially with the multiple Grippen nerfs.
The Grippen is an amazing jet, but with how four other nations having it, you are honestly much better off getting the Hungarian, Thai, or even the South African version. Easier grinds that actually gives you decent jets on the way up.
They added the F-18 Hornet and I’m just 600000RP from it lol.
Also even if it’s bad, I managed to grind until there in only 3 weeks approx. using the tactics I explained you with the premium bonuses of the J35XS.
Boring but efficient.
It’s true that playing with the MIG 21 Bis is way nicer, also the JA37C, but the grind then is real bad as they give you real bad missiles for the BR for the JA37C and no bonus.
The stock MIG 21Bis is surprisingly good though, once I got how to use his “head on” missiles.
I was able to grind out Sweden back when rockets actually did something. Literally how most of my stuff is spades: rocketing bases. After that nerf, I just stopped caring about spading most of the Swedish jets, since everything from 8.0-11.0 for Sweden absolutely sucks (during that time, they recently gave the AJS some air to ground missiles, but it’s still a terrible jet).
And considering how terrible the Finnish Hornet is compared to the American one, I’m not too sure about playing it.
Should be 10.7… not really sure why it’s fair for them to fight 9.3 jets (most of them don’t have CMs) with 6x Aim-9Js, CMs, super-sonic, and a pretty decent flight performance.
Yeah, I agree. 10.7 was probably low enough.
I have actually been uptiered more than +1BR once “for real” a while ago:
Spoiler
Though I would call it more of a freak accident, because I remember that I swapped my lineup before queuing, apparently during some time when the servers was slow enough to queue me with my previous, I believe 10.7, lineup with this one. So it can sorta happen, but not normally. And probably server wise I was still running that 10.7 lineup.
Gotta remember we can out-pace the server latency.
At 10.7 they will be uptiered into fighting MiG 23s, F5s, Harriers with AIM 9Ls, F4s, and plenty more which outpaces that thing. Plus they only get AIM 9Js, not exactly a threat compared to lower tiers (rockets as flares is good against Bs, Ds, Gs, and Js), especially in comparison to the R-60Ms, AIM 9Ls, and plethora of radar missiles the Saab will experience against 11.7s
I don’t see how that’s any different to other 10.7s though.
J-7D doesn’t get any all-aspect missiles either (gets 2 less missiles - though PL-5Bs are better).
Then you look at the F-5C, which only gets 2x Aim-9Es for slightly better flight performance and more countermeasures.
or the Jaguar GR1A. with only 2x 9Gs, (though more flares) but an overall worse performance to the J35XS imo
The J-7 is a far better plane than the Saab. I’d rather use a MiG with rear aspects over the Dorito that stalls from a slight left turn.
Now do payload. The Jaguar is a strike aircraft. Which means that is designed to drop bombs. The Saab cannot destroy bases anymore.
I think they are as good as each other.
6x Aim-9Js means that you don’t necessarily have to start dogfighting.
When you do start dogfighting, you will almost always win against the J-7D (and most other delta-wing aircraft), and you have countermeasures to prevent third parties from long ranges (unlike the J35D).
and that is irrelevant for the conversation. If anything that argument just pushes the GR1A lower when compared to something like the F-111A’s ability to bomb things.
The conversation was purely about A2A performance, which is why I mention the GR1A which is slower, turns worse and has worse A2A fit.
IMO, J35XS would be for the most part fine at 10.7 and would ease the pressure when things are forced to fight them in an uptier. With 11.7s being dragged up to 12.3 all the time currently (Blame the F-18s) . The J35XS would likely continue seeing a fairly consistant number of downtiers.
You have a point, but let’s be honest: Gaijin is never going to fix the compression. Quite honestly, moving the A-10 up BRs to where they actually belong (A-10A going to 11.3, A-10A Late going to 11.7, A-10C going to 12.7) would help a lot more than moving the Saab up 0.4BRs
