About this aircraft
The A-4E (rank VI) has the speed and armament to take on enemy fighters, and its 60 countermeasures ensure it can counter air-to-air missiles. Its real strength is attacking bases and ground targets, as it can carry up to 8,500 lb and has access to a varied array of bombs, rockets and gun pods.
That’s not an afterburner, they’re detachable boosters. You can play around with them in the test flight. They’re usually employed during take-off to assist with heavy load-outs, but it seems for the sake of the graphic here they’re being shown engaged mid-flight.
Oh I know about the A-4’s boosters, plenty of sim matches before the new airfields where I had to use them while praying I would not run out of airspeed, altitude, and ideas at the same time once the field ended. Still have to raz them for the picture though
